The Space Needle really does have a spectacular view at the observation deck, but I highly recommend enjoying a meal at SkyCity. To go to the observation deck, you'll have to purchase a ticket AND wait in line. After checking the prices, we decided to have dinner at SkyCity which includes admission to the observation deck and allowed us to see 360 degrees of Seattle in daylight and at night. The food at Skycity was delicious and the view was amazing. After dinner we checked out the observation deck, and the skyline was beautiful, but was obstructed by the guardrails. Obviously, safety is paramount so I can't blame them for the guardrails. There's also a coffee stand / cafe on the observation deck. I definitely recommend going to the top of the Space Needle and doing the math and checking out what you'd prefer to do - food or not food.
