Description: Crush owners Robert de Lucia, Scott Anaya & Chad Culley created Crush in order to share their love of wine, food and conversation with Anchorage. Their vision was to give Anchorage a place where people can experiment with a variety of wines, drop by for a casual meal or sit down to a $1000 vintage bottle. In 2010 they expanded the vision by introducing their retail wine shop, Cellar, the bottle shop at Crush. The store occupies the loft directly above Crush and features over 400 wines as well as beer, spirits, cheese & wine related gifts. The shop is also home to Cellar Wine Club. Sharing wine is about the conversation; the richness of each glass reminds us of travel, meals and family. Wine should not have any mystique. It should be accessible to everyone so that we all can enjoy it. Rob, Scott & Chad invite you to come down to Crush and spark a conversation with them about the wines that fuel their passion and keep the sparkle in their eyes.

We were in Anchorage for less than 24 hours, so tried to do research both in advance and on the ground. Fortunately, we discovered that, the very night we were in town, Crush was opening in a new location (where Sack's Cafe was). Had we not tried to find the restaurant in advance, we would have missed out on the best meal of our trip.

Everything about the food and wine, the service, and the atmosphere was excellent. The food is inventive and playfully served, and the restaurant is both classy and comfortable. If you are just passing through like we were, you owe it to yourself to grab a meal at Crush.

Cute small wine bar with excellent appetizers. Can order wine by the bottle, glass, or choose from several different flights. No reservations, gets crowded early.

My wife and I were in Anchorage after a cruise. We slept late and had a great matching late breakfast. We enjoyed the city open market, trolley tour and a beer just looking at Denali. For dinner we wanted good and light and we found Crush. The wine is wonderful and a great varied selection. We had the ciabatta with herb butter and red humus, which is a great mix. After a cruise the dinner with a King Ridge pinot noir and True Myth Chardonnay were perfect size. After dinner we went upstairs to the wine shop and bought a bottle of the True Myth that we took back to the hotel. When the owner learned our plan he offered and exchanged our purchased with a chilled bottle he had in the bar. A place where the customer is first is always five stars.

We visited Crush for an after dinner drink however with their amazing menu of wines, apertifs and desserts we stayed 2-3 hours experiencing the fare. I had an amazing dessert of an adult S'more that was to die for. My husband had an Ice Wine that he's still talking about. Crush was refreshingly inventive and the atmosphere was warm friendly and creatively decorated (light fixture made of wine bottles).

Crush is that rarity - a place you can get decent food (and a glass of decent wine) when you're not desperately hungry. Several dishes are available in tapas-style portions (including delicious pork & parmesan meatballs), so you can enjoy the flavours without ending up feeling bloated. A civilised way to spend an evening!
