Oleana is not your typical restaurant - it's in an unassuming building between Kendall and Union Square, and I did not have really high expectations of the place prior to coming.
I was in for a big surprise; the entire meal was amazing - great service, really interesting, different and well-prepared dishes, and a great atmosphere.
I would highly recommend to anyone, especially to those with food allergies like Celiac Disease or for Vegetarians - there are still great meat dishes for those that want them, but the majority of the dishes are meat-free.
The desserts were also exceptional - I have never had mint-pea ice cream and was surprised how much I liked it, and the baked alaska was truly unique.
Also worth noting, the dishes are expensive but not nearly as expensive as going downtown or to some other nearby 'fancy' restaurants. With 2 drinks, dessert and a more than filling meal, we spent about $70 / person.
