I don't know if the hotel attracts students because it's semi-close to athletic facilities (saw several school teams at breakfast) but do NOT stay here if a good night's sleep is important to you. Hotel staff was unable to control drunken party in the hallway (slammed room doors, yelling and laughing, arguing) at 2:30 am. It took several calls to the front desk. By the time the commotion/altercation/party/whatever was over I'm sure everyone on this floor was up for the night.

Breakfast is nice but service was terrible.

Dear Cristina G,

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. I am so sorry that you experienced those incidents during your stay with us, and I apologize that the hotel staff was unable to control it quickly enough. We are rethinking our relationship with some school teams as a result of their recent behavior with us. Rest assured this is not the typical guest that stays with us.

Again my sincere apologies for your experience.

Best,

I stayed at the Freepoint for two nights in early February. The hotel has a very modern, cool vibe to it. My room was clean and spacious. Awesome, comfy robes were provided which is such a nice treat I didn't have to pack one. Close to downtown, close to Harvard Square. Very nice staff. Starbucks on property. Nice little gym. Can't say enough nice things - great stay - thank you.

An extended family group stayed here for two nights. It was a mix of positives and negatives. On the plus side, the beds were really comfortable. We would have liked a coffee-maker in the room but it wasn’t a huge deal as we went to the Starbucks next door and got coffees there each morning. The bathroom was small but the shower was really good and we liked the big bottles of shampoo and conditioner (much more environmentally friendly than the little bottles you normally get). Also, the complimentary shuttle service to/from Harvard Square was great. The major negative for us was the reception staff. Right from when we arrived until when we left, they couldn’t have been less helpful. Each person we dealt with seemed completely uninterested in their job/ the hotel guests. They didn’t appear to have any training whatsoever. We had breakfast on one of the mornings in the hotel and the service was friendly but slow (and they forgot one order completely).

Dear SineadDublinIreland7,

Thank you for your review. Thank you for the feedback on the reception staff, I am so sorry that you found the reception staff disinterested and not helpful, that is surprising, we are a four star hotel and we typically do not hear comments like this. Nevertheless, I will be looking into this. I am glad to read that you found the beds comfortable and enjoyed the in room amenities and I'm happy to inform you that we will be getting in room coffee makers in April. Thank you again for your comments and for staying with us.

Best.

This hotel is about ten minutes from Harvard Square and located on the very busy Alewife Brook Parkway, even so the room was very quiet and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. There were no restaurants seen nearby so we opted to use the restaurant in the hotel - the menu was very limited but the food was very good. We did have a problem with young children running and screaming through the restaurant but the bartender put a stop to that and the remainder of the evening was quiet and enjoyable.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and had even though we faced traffic the room was quiet.

I have stayed here several times and never had a bad experience. This hotel was recently upgraded and redone and is a beautiful boutique hotel with modern updates. The staff is always very helpful and eager to assist! Have and would stay here again!
