We came here as a group and were greeted and served by the most marvelous server, Patrice! We had a perfect meal of carefully prepared seafood and a delicious dessert. The food was tasty, with good portions, and beautifully presented on the plate. I wish I could add another star to my rating!! There is also a gluten Free Menu for the two in our group who are gluten intolerant. The server kept our drinks filled, described the specials and entrees and made recommendations that were right on target!! A marvelous meal in an old refurbished tobacco warehouse. Do not miss this jewel!!

Great spot to celebrate a family milestone, classic decor, friendly service, and most importantly, great food. Recommend the Kona Crusted Filet and the Lobster Mac & Cheese, perfectly executed, though everything was delicious from appetizers to dessert.

Our hotel restaurant was 21 + only so we quickly had to find another dinner before our show and Uber'd to Bookbinders. Luckily we were able to get a table without a reservation. My daughter although only 9 has a taste for fine dining. She was able to get a filet cooked perfectly as well as her favorite potatoes and broccoli. Everything was fantastic!

My husband and I live in Williamsburg, VA, and we enjoy trying out Richmond restaurants. We ate at Bookbinders in May, 2018, for our wedding anniversary. I grew up in Philadelphia and my husband and I lived there for a few years. We had been to Bookbinders in Philadelphia, once as child for me and as a young married couple years ago. We remember it as very good. The restaurant in Richmond has a beautiful ambiance in keeping with its location on Tobacco Row. It has a convenient parking lot just across the street. Bookbinders is a very expensive restaurant with even the sides for the main course as an a la carte item. But we knew that and we were celebrating. We could not decide on the appetizers so we grazed through them. We split the fried calamari and the burgundy escargot. The escargot were excellent and we are escargot addicts. The calamari was excellent, too, but we would have liked the coating to be a little crisper, but the full flavor to the calamari did come through since it was not overwhelmed by too much batter which happens sometimes. We then had soup - the snapper soup and the shrimp bisque. Both were excellent, except that we would have liked a little more turtle meat in the snapper soup. The flavors of the soups were full bodied and rich. The cup serving of each soup is very small. We each ordered the crab cake and no sides. The crab cake comes on a plate with two sauces under it and is attractively served even without sides. However, the crab cake was just okay. We lived 45 years in Maryland and we know crab cakes. The crab cake was very large, but it had too much mayonnaise holding it together and not enough lump crab. There was not too much filler, just too much mayonnaise. There are two restaurants in Williamsburg which have much better crab cakes at a much lower price. So the bottom line is that some of the food is excellent and some just okay.

Great traditional steakhouse. It's a nice change from more trendy/modern atmospheres in restaurants. The onsite parking directly across from the entrance is also a plus- you can park and walk right in without having to deal with valet, street parking, or finding public parking.
