We may have just been very unlucky however here is an honest review of the Qawra Palace from a travel agent wasnt expecting the ritz but going home riddled with bed bug bites isnt what we expected!! - arrived on Saturday night room 246 - on arrival the room absolutely stunk of foist and must - couldnt even hang the clothes up in the wardrobe because of a foul smell

Breakfast the next morning was not the best - I am not a fussy eater the scrambled egg was ok

Pleased we were only bed and breakfast as travelled around Malta having stayed prior to this in Sliema - the Palace plenty of nice restaurants around Malta

On the Monday evening my partner started to notice bites around his head down my back and on the back of ,my hand thought it was bit strange as not warm enough for Mozzies and none had been seen

On arrival back into Newcastle Airport on Tuesday afternoon my partner said to me your ears are covered in bites - and they were starting to weep - quick visit to the GP and they have confirmed they are bed bug bites!

Worried sick we have bought the little critters back with us everything we took has undergone a deep clean

Second visit to the GP today as the bites are infected and now on a course of anti biotics - cheers QAWRA Palace

As I said i was not expecting the ritz as it was a cheap deal for 3 nights - definitely a case of you get what you pay for - I should of known better given the industry I work in!!

Defo returning to Malta but definitely not to the QAWRA Palace!!

Room Tip: dont stay in room 246!!

Have just returned from Qawra Place. We we worried about going as there were some bad reviews. We were pleasantly surprised, been updated since we last went.Rooms were spacious and spotless. Food was good and hot.All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the weather but couldn’t do anything about that.Enjoyed it very much.

Don't let it's 3 star rating put you off, we had a fantastic time here. It has been recently upgraded and I think its closer to a 4 star, (see pics) rooms spacious enough with a balcony (our view was the courtyard which is ok - sea view would have been nicer but they had run out) but it was very clean. Buffet area was nice and food was good, usually 3 different meal choices, maybe one extra would have been good. There's a lovely coffee shop/evening bar area near reception where you can sit and people watch. Pool area lovely however pool was freezing!!! Only my partner braved getting in, I just paddled! Lovely cafe bit by the pool doing ice cream, hot dogs, burgers etc etc. Lovely views over the sea. Also out of the hotel take a right down the main road and there's a lovely place called "Cheeky Monkey" great for food/cocktails with a super view. plus bus stop is there too if you want to go exploring. We also hired a car from the place under the hotel - fantastic service and very very good value. Enjoy your holiday here, Malta is lovely - thy the Blue lagoon for a day trip its fab!

Room Tip: go for sea view

We booked this holiday six weeks before we went for a birthday. We didn’t expect to much with it being ***
We were very impressed with the hotel. The room was large and very clean, they were always cleaning round the building.
The food was fine always found plenty to choose from and loved the deserts to much!!!
We will definitely return to this hotel.

Just returned from a week stay here , first visit to Malta for us we enjoyed our stay here , we was in one of the rooms that look over the courtyard that was ok but I think a sea view room would be nicer , we booked halfboard and upgraded to all inclusive when we arrived which we think was good value it cost us €16 each per day . The meals were ok average for an all inclusive hotel could do with being a little warmer , pool area is nice rooms ok nice location. The bar staff are really good especially Hector he is great always has a smile on his face really friendly and great at his job he is a credit to the hotel, Jordan is also fab really looked after us and is a great guy another credit to the Qawra palace, thank you ,if we visit Malta again we would stay here again .
