We stopped into the Richardson Tavern for a quick cocktail on a recent visit to Woodstock. I loved the rich wood interior and authentic decorations.

Thank you for including a drink in Richardson's Tavern in your recent visit to Woodstock. It’s a wonderful spot for a relaxing cocktail or perhaps one (or two!) of Vermont’s finest craft beers and the perfect way to top off the day!

The next time you're in the area I’d encourage you to consider The Tavern for dinner as well; we feature a terrific “classically Vermont” menu with some great uniquely Woodstock twists and it’s always a lot of fun!

Please do give us a call if you’d like to consider extending your visit with a stay at The Woodstock Inn & Resort, and we’ll be happy to help you design the perfect getaway!

Warm regards,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

Loved this place. It was a perfect winter restaurant. Big fireplace in a rustic setting. Big comfy chairs and great food. Service was very good. Great place after being outside in the Vermont snow all day.

Thanks for stopping into Richardson's Tavern on s recent snowy evening to celebrate your birthday!

The Tavern is a great cozy and casual venue for an evening out, and the winter menu is a real taste of Vermont, both literally and figuratively. Especially popular is our special fondue, created with unique 1890s-style cheddar cheese from our Billings Farm & Museum’s 100% Jersey herd… f you missed it then you have the perfect excuse for another visit!

We’re honored to have been part of your birthday celebration and look forward to hosting you again soon!

Best wishes,

This was our first trip to Woodstock and we were actually planning to book a stay at this hotel before we chose the Killington Grand instead. Based on the reviews, we decided to check out the tavern but sadly it was our worst dining experience all week.

First , the tavern is very small. We arrived early (they don’t take reservations) and seated without a problem. It then became busy and quite loud. The service was pretty bad. After an hour of waiting, we finally got our food. The tables are small and ours was never cleared. The food was fine but not worth the wait. Our young kids were unable to sit still any longer and we couldn’t enjoy our meals or even drink our wine which also arrived late.

The hotel itself also appeared cramped and busy. The Grand too was packed but we never felt like we were on top of other families.

I’m glad we made an alternative choice to stay and this visit to the Tavern convinced me the Inn looked better on the internet than in person.

A disappointing last night out before we head home but thankfully we had great dining experiences elsewhere.

When the service makes you feel forgotten, that’s hard to forget !

Thanks for including a visit to Woodstock and The Woodstock Inn & Resort in your recent family ski vacation!

Of course Presidents’ Week is a very busy time for us, but that in no way excuses us from providing a warm welcome and the best possible experience to every guest.

We do offer a fine dining experience at The Red Rooster as well as the more casual Richardson's Tavern environment, and The Tavern is often very busy and lively. We do make an effort to provide friendly and timely service to everyone and I apologize that in your case we seem to have missed the mark.

I do hope you’ll consider another visit when you are in the area again and look forward to welcoming you to a more relaxed and relaxing environment- or perhaps a more elegant dinner in The Red Rooster! Summer is an especially fun time to dine at The Inn, as we feature real farm-to-table cuisine from our own organic Kelly Way Gardens… we hope to see you there!

Warm regards,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

The food at this restaurant was average but the staff and service made up for it, the staff were one of the nicest in Woodstock and the services was even better. It was very lively for a town like Woodstock.

Thanks for visiting us in Richardson's Tavern for dinner recently and commenting on the experience.

I’m sorry to hear you weren’t thrilled with our menu, and cannot really comment since I don't' know what you selected. I know several of our signature dishes are almost universally loved and while I’m happy to learn our servers made you feel welcome and appreciated I’m sorry we didn’t steer you toward a meal that was in line with your expectations.

I do hope you’ll visit Woodstock and The Woodstock Inn & Resort again, and maybe you’ll consider The Red Rooster, or somewhat more formal fine-dining restaurant. Please do visit our web site to learn more and see our menus; then call us if we can help in any way with suggestions or arrangements to make each visit unique and rewarding for you!

Yours truly,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

We dined here on a Saturday night (2/10) on the recommendation of our host at a local B&B. The ambiance of the tavern is wonderful: dimly lit, with a small but adequate bar, and a dining room with high back chairs that perfectly break the open room. The tap list was short but varied and adequate. We opted for the fondue and a burger, and we both enjoyed our dishes. While the staff members, from the host to the servers, were all very pleasant, drink service in the dining room was too infrequent.

Overall, this is a comfortable tavern and a perfect respite after a day on the slopes or exploring Vermont in the winter. While I enjoyed the casual environment and the quality of the food, the servers, bartender to table server, could use an injection of energy and focus on delivery of more prompt service.

Thank you for joining us for dinner in Richardson's Tavern while visiting Woodstock recently. We are honored that our friends in other inns in the area recommend us and glad you enjoyed your visit.

I’m especially happy that you were able to sample some classic Vermont craft beers as well as our totally unique fondue- made with 100% Jersey cream cheddar from Billings Farm & Museum and accompanied by a variety of terrific finger foods for dipping!

Thank you also for your observation about the service you received. The fact that you visited on a particularly busy evening in no way excuses from providing a consistent and welcoming experience from beginning to end. I’m sorry this marred an otherwise memorable evening, and thank you for helping us continue to improve!

We hope to see you again when your travels bring you back to the area and invite you to come experience some of the myriad other activities and amenities our resort has to offer!

Warm regards,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager
