We were attending a game at the new Mercedes Benz stadium with some friends. The Ellis was in a great location to walk anywhere we needed to. Valet service was quick and easy. The hotel is small enough that you don't feel like you're fighting a big crowd like at the bigger hotels. Check in was quick and easy too. The bar was handy for happy hour and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The front desk employees, one nice lady in particular that I can't remember her name, was a pleasure to deal with. We felt very well taken care of. Would highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay in this area.

Room tip: We stayed in one of the premium rooms (I think there is only 1 per floor). It included a sitting area with pullout sofa and a fridge. Very spacious and felt quiet and private.

Not at all boutique. The Ellis was selected for us by the convention staff of a large medical conference we were attending. We asked for a four-star hotel or higher. We were told that the Ellis was a boutique hotel that was right in the heart of the area. That was absolutely correct. However, being across the street from the Ritz Carlton the Ellis should've been in much much better shape inside

Room tip: This would probably be a fine hotel for a group of guys hanging out together. Not for a girls trip and certainly not for a business trip. We asked for an extra blanket because we were cold and we were told they had no blankets. How do you have no blankets?

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you stayed with us over the ASH conference. We are not a rated hotel. We are the only independent, boutique hotel in downtown.

We were just completely renovated, being completed in May of 2017. All of our guest rooms, corridors, lobby, fitness center are less than one year old.

We hope that you give us another opportunity to serve you. We would love to serve you again.

The location was great for downtown attractions. It is right across the street for a MARTA stop. The staff was superb and very accommodating. We will definitely stay there again, and we highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on 12/2/17; we were in town for the Falcons Game...

The rooms were small, although updated you could tell the hotel was older and newly remodeled; we had to call maintenance within the first 10 Minutes to fix the heating; even though there was a thermostat on the wall; he had to go up in the celing to adjust the air; it was either heat or air not the option for both; I’m assuming because the hotel was older. The train Noise was awful I was happy we were in the 7th floor” but we could still hear the noise throughout the night and morning. The hotel didn’t offer a lot like spa, shopping, pool, hot tub, jacuzzi it just wasn’t a lot to see or be awwwd by but the location was awesome, staff was friendly, and you could walk to all the main attractions downtown. We did find that it was much cheaper to just eat at the near by restaurants because the room service prices were high and the added gratuity charge for delivery. They even charge $2 for bottled water I’ve stayed at 5 star Hotels and water was complimentary; I wouldn’t book this hotel as a first second or third option; only if there’s no other hotels available and I Love nice comfortable beds the bed was too firm and house keeping was too Loud; over all the location and staff was the best part of this stay. With this being said the rooms were small but clean, linen was clean, the bathrooms were spacious and clean as well as towels and bath cloths. The lightning in the room was very dim, but again it was obvious the hotel had been newly remodeled and updated. Again not my first option but it’s worth staying for a night or weekend.

The staff were all nice upon checking in and out; the security guard was very helpful, and friendly. The best part of this hotel is location!

Thank you for your review. We appreciate that you mentioned that our hotel was recently renovated and our location is awesome, being city-center, close to all venues and attractions in downtown, as well as our rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious and especially that our service team of associates was very friendly.

We are sorry that you encountered trouble with your in-room thermostat. We hope that the engineer that came to your room fixed the issue to your satisfaction. Also, our beds are brand new. Yours may not have been "broken in" enough yet. We are very sorry.

Unfortunately, we cannot control the noise outside our hotel, like the bell on the streetcar. We wish we could! All of the hotels downtown have the same issue. You are correct, we do not have a spa or swimming pool and there is only some shopping downtown. Most of Atlanta's shopping is in Buckhead, about 8 miles away and directly connected via MARTA.

We do charge $2 per bottle of water for the convenience of it being in room and to cover the expeinse of stocking it in-room.

We do hope that you give us another opportunity to meet all of your expectations.

Spent a weekend in downtown Atlanta and this hotel is smack bang in the middle of it all. Close to the historic district and close to all the sights. Venue wise, a good hotel. What was a wee bit disappointing was the fact that though it touted itself as a boutique hotel, it didnt live up to its stated reputation. the room didnt have a safe, which i think is a must at any hotel nowadays. Breakfast is nice and hearty but the restaurant is too small. the lobby and restaurant felt dated and cramped. would have been good if the hotel had curated tours for weekend guests since that is their USP anyways. I was surprised that the room didnt get turned down whilst I was there for 2 nights despite my asking for it to be done

Thank you for your review. We appreciate that you mentioned our city-center location, close to all attractions, venues, restaurants that downtown Atlanta has to offer.

We are sorry that we did not live up to your expectations of having in-room safes. We do have a safety deposit box behind the front desk for guests to use, to store what they want, at no charge.

We are glad that you liked your breakfast. Our restaurant is designed for the number of rooms that we have. We have 22 seats indoor and 26 seats outdoors. This capacity gives us the opportunity to serve our 127 rooms of guests since guest flow to our restaurant.

Our lobby is brand new, part of our complete renovation finished n May 2017. Yes, our lobby is "boutique-sized". We have a small real estate foot print and try to maximize the space we have to work with.

We do not offer turn down service, only upon request. We are glad that you requested it.

We hope that you allow us another opportunity to serve you.
