I arrived after a turbulent flight in which I was sick and I tried to check in at 1.30pm, so not exactly the crack of dawn. The receptionist was rude, distant and couldn't have cared less. She took my cell and said she'd call when my room was ready, and I said I'd wait in the lobby and work. By 2.45 I was feeling ill again and went to ask at reception where a different girl said my room was ready!!

Honestly only one hotel, a Kimpton, has ever actually called to say a room was ready, but I thought a Grand Hyatt might!!
It's also not my imagination that a woman traveling alone seems to always get the smallest possible room.

I've travelled for work for 3 years, in hundreds of hotel rooms and if I travel with my husband we're often upgraded and looked after, but when I travel and book in my own name I'm almost always given the smallest room. My work mates at the hotel had larger rooms and guess what - all male.

Other than this it's the usual upscale hotel with a cafe area with the slowest most unfriendly staff. I walked out in the cold to a decent Starbucks next door to avoid it, where at least the staff are trained to appear happy in their work.
I'm booked here again in May for work and I'm already depressed.

I rented 2 rooms for 3 days. It was a family excursion and cost over $2,100. The rooms were adequate and would have been pleasant if there had been any maintenance, which there wasn't -- no fresh linens, no clean towels, not even replacement of toilet paper. Complaint didn't help. There was no room service menu in one of the rooms, and when I asked for one at the front desk, I was told that it would have to be brought to my room, which took another 30-45 minutes. The inaccessibility of food probably saved me a bundle because the breakfasts I got were around $40 each, for nothing more than a glass of juice, a small pot of coffee and a bowl of cereal or a couple of pieces of toast. On the plus side, hotel personnel were quite pleasant; they just did nothing to improve the situation. I almost forgot, since I didn't have a car: the cost to park one was outrageous: $39 per day, which is about the same as in downtown DC where I live.

Room tip: Our 14th floor rooms were very quiet

Staff went above and beyond their duties. A member of security helped me out with my bags bc I didn’t have time to wait for bellman. Incredible. The lady who checked me in carried my bags in. Everyone I encountered was helpful.

This was an extremely happy surprise for us. we've been Hyatt customers for over 15 years now and this was one of the best Hyatt properties in the USA we have ever visited.
Well-maintained, clean, friendly staff, great food. It even provides a courtesy car to take you here and there within a 2-mile radius of the hotel. If we knew it beforehand, we would have stayed a couple extra days.
