We enjoyed some incredibly delicious food in Restaurante La Tapa after a long day of mountain hiking. We certainly weren't disappointed. We shared the house specialty which was a slightly spicy wild boar dish served with a chili style ragout. On the side we ordered an almond and raisin cous-cous. The food is served with a very generous potion, but we also accompanied it with a standard side-salad and a venison pate with fresh bread. The food was truly a feast for the senses, wholesome and very satisfying. True, it's a little expensive for the area, but the host looked after us with great care and offered us a liqueur style after dinner shot. Overall, if you're looking for something rich and gamy with a great presentation, do not miss this place. It's worth noting that we had to book a day in advance, as this is a very small restaurant with the owner acting as the chef and host,

While the food is good and something different than the usual slab of meat with fries and an egg, the upselling was rather annoying. After "recommendations" for the main dish (surprisingly the most expensive item on the menu) came appetizers. If we wanted some pate or cheese? Maybe some dessert? Finally came the bottle of liquor, so we decided to make a dash for the door. But not before we were asked to make a comment on Tripadvisor. Same story for the other diners.
Also, the music choice could be more suitable for an Alpujarras village with berber-inspired food. So good food, but not the right atmosphere.

Small restaurant provide varieties of deer/boar dishes, cheese, spanish cuisine and lot of food is made out of local products, even wine. Owner is very polite, nice and friendly, although food is bit pricey I would definitely recommend to visit. In my humble opinion, it is the best restaurant in town.

Wow, what a great find this place was! Had a few nights in Sierra Nevada and wanted to try this place after reading other review. We weren't disappointed either! We got in as they opened around 8pm and were the first guests. There was only 1 man working there as his compadre was sick the night we visited. This didn't affect our visit though and i have never been so impressed at what a 1-man band could do!! He was the waiter, the bar man, the chef, the everything!

The restaurant / tavern is really cute inside. Small and really well presented with good ambience. They had the Beatles playing softly in the background which was really nice.

The food was some of the best we had all trip. The boar was so good! The prices were all reasonable too. Between the 2 of us we had, 1 glass each of Tinto Del Verano (Summer wine similar to Sangria), 2 glasses each of red, bread with oil, 2 Tapas to share, 1 main course each and 1 side to share with the total bill being only 60 Euros.

If you're in Capileira, Bubion or anywhere near the Sierra Nevada, give this place a try! It is a bit hard to find and you'll probably not stumble across it unless you're really looking for it as it's off the main strip. You'll be well rewarded though once you find it :)
