Carolina House has been our 'go-to' local restaurant for many years; we're card-carrying members of their frequent flyer
club. Generally, we always have a good experience there. Not so tonight,
First, it was 70 degrees outside, but the air-conditioning was on full throttle! It was freezing in the restaurant. I asked to speak to a manager. None was on duty, so I was referred to the bartender, who seemed annoyed by our request, but promised to turn the A/C down; it never happened.
Even though it was 'Mexican night', and we ordered from that menu, it was a full hour before our dinners arrived! And by the time that happened, there were only two other tables occupied in the main front dining room where we were sitting. Truly inexplicable.
I ordered the shrimp fajitas... the shrimp came with the tails still on! Very odd.
No doubt we'll be back; hopefully tonight was anomaly. Let's hope there is no repeat of tonight's disappointment.
