A fabulous find! The 1860's home has been completely renovated, retaining the original architectural details and adding modern decor. The result is stunningly beautiful! Mark and Toni were gracious hosts. We regret we were only able to stay one night! The B & B is centrally air conditioned, which was quite a plus, since we were there during a heat wave. I had hoped it would be cool enough to use the in-room fireplace =) A bountiful continental breakfast was offered, with homemade granola, fruit, yogurt, bread, cheeses, breakfast pudding and pastries. I particularly enjoyed the granola with yogurt. Another nice touch was an expresso machine for guests (We may have to get one for our home!).

We stayed in the Emerson room. It's beautifully decorated, spotless, and arranged for comfort. No TV in the room - a plus in my book. The bathroom included a clawfoot tub and separate shower. Nice and quiet = great sleeping.

The location is also convenient to Concord and the historic sites. I strongly recommend Hawthorne Inn and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Emerson room on 1st floor is one of the original rooms and was awesome

I am giving 5 stars only because I can’t go higher. Newly refurbished, it is great. A perfect blend of an old historic house and modern amenities. Our room was generous with a comfortable bed and great sheets. The bathroom was new and the shower was perfect. The 2 indoor common sitting areas, library and living room, were inviting and a good spot to take a break. There also is a very nice outdoor sitting area in the back. The continental breakfast was more than adequate with several delicious choices. They also offer a high end coffee maker with good snacks and tea throughout the day. The hosts, Tony and Mark, were the perfect blend of friendly, helpful and nonintrusive. The location is excellent with the Wayside House across the street and many historic sites close by. Area restaurants were very good. All-in-all it was a perfect getaway.

We stayed here in June, in the Concord room. The entire house is really so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. We loved the room; the design was gorgeous and the bed was super comfortable. The location is perfect, situated on the Lexington Rd, super close to the town center, but also not too busy or crowded. Concord is one my favorite little towns ever, and the Hawthorne Inn just perfectly encapsulates the feel and vibe of the town. I also loved that it was across the road from Orchard House, which is one of the main attractions for me in Concord. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and informative, kind and generous. I would never stay anywhere else, and can't wait to go back!

We stayed in the Sleepy Hollow room, which is wheel-chair accessible, for two nights. We loved the decor, the easy-to-use espresso machine, and outdoor sitting area. The historic downtown is a short drive, but I enjoyed the approximate one-mile walk to the business district. Breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning!

Room Tip: If you need wheelchair accessibility, this room is great. If not, consider other rooms with a traditional shower.

The building itself is beautiful, and the owners did a great job melding history and tradition with modern design and amenities. There is amazing attention to detail in every aspect. The owners are kind and friendly, and you can tell that they love what they do. I looked forward to the homemade breakfasts every morning - everything was delicious, especially the Spanish rice pudding.
