A beautifully restored convent, full of history, and refurbished to a very high standard only 20 years ago. It is ideally located in the small old town. Rooms are generally spacious and beautifully furnished - our junior suite was ‘baronial’ in size with a massive bedroom, four poster bed, seating area and plenty of storage; a separate lounge and balcony, and a very modern bathroom with separate bath and shower ( in fact two showers).
There’s a courtyard and cloisters if you don’t want to sit in the two bars. Typical parador fare in the restaurant. I disagree with the comment in another review about the breakfast offer being very limited. - there is the usual very wide selection but in a fairly small dining room the buffet area is smaller.
A small outdoor pool is very pleasant during the summer months. But if you’re travelling by car, be forewarned about the car lift from outside the town walls into the hotel - JUST TAKE YOUR TIME!

Room tip: Junior suites are really luxurious. Check with the hotel in advance if you have an exceptionally long vehicle to park.

We drove from Jarandilla de la Vera to Plasencia , a lovely one hour journey , to spend 3 nights at Parador Plasencia, This is a beautiful Parador with plenty of rooms to explore . Beautifully preserved it has a lovely bar and nice , but small , swimming pool . The staff were always helpful and pleasant . Parking beneath the hotel by lift was another story for us . We were given a stonking big Renault SUV in Madrid and it took quite some doing to get out of the garage on our last morning although getting in from the street was a lot easier . The garage was packed with cars which made the exit tricky . A 20 min effort. We enjoyed the town with plenty of history. Our stay at Parador Plasencia was indeed memorable.

Room tip: Take a small car.

Dear Sir:
Thank you very much for staying at the hotel and leaving us your comments. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your three day stay.
I am sorry about the difficulties in the garage, but with the huge slope and the archaeological remains we could not make any other kind of garage.
Best regards,

The parador is very nice and the personell was very friendly but the breakfast needs improvement. The selection is limited and very basic and the quality was not what we have come to expect from a parador. For instance, it was nowhere near the experience we got in the Parador de Santiago de Compostela.

Excellent rooms, professional, attentive and kind staff
My hubby and I enjoyed our stay and the checkin was detailed and useful. The room was in excellent condition and the visit of the parador memorable. Restaurant services and food were very good and was great to have a drink at the bodega bar after hours in summer. Highly recommend this parador.
