A beautifully restored convent, full of history, and refurbished to a very high standard only 20 years ago. It is ideally located in the small old town. Rooms are generally spacious and beautifully furnished - our junior suite was ‘baronial’ in size with a massive bedroom, four poster bed, seating area and plenty of storage; a separate lounge and balcony, and a very modern bathroom with separate bath and shower ( in fact two showers).
There’s a courtyard and cloisters if you don’t want to sit in the two bars. Typical parador fare in the restaurant. I disagree with the comment in another review about the breakfast offer being very limited. - there is the usual very wide selection but in a fairly small dining room the buffet area is smaller.
A small outdoor pool is very pleasant during the summer months. But if you’re travelling by car, be forewarned about the car lift from outside the town walls into the hotel - JUST TAKE YOUR TIME!
