There is only good to be said about this Hostal. It is just as good if not better than a Premier Inn. The room is made daily. The wifi is free and works and there is international tv. There are restaurants in fron of you as well as next to you. You are situated across the road from the sea yet only ten minutes walk into central Denia. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak English.

Room tip: Good value

This small and cosy hostel is in a prefect part of Denia. It is in the old quarter of town and only a 5 mins walk to the centre. The walk is a lovely walk through the old part of Denia with narrow streets. It is also a 10 mins walk to the beach.
The hostel was very clean, in both public areas and rooms/bathrooms. The cleaner that they have is very nice and helpful. She does an excellent job of cleaning the rooms and bathrooms and has a great eye for details. She leaves the room well organised and tidied. I was there for a week and it stood out a mile the day she had off. I would like to commend her on her work.
The room had a balcony which was great for seeing the Falla Roques burn, as I went out for Fallas. It was well equipped with just enough furniture and the bed was really comfy for a good night’s sleep.
I had breakfast there, and it was very nice. You have to pay separately for it but it is only 3 euros for coffee, orange juice and toast. Good value for money.
The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the staff on the reception, he wasn’t very nice or helpful but I didn’t need to deal with him, only to pay him and get the Wi-Fi password.
I go to Denia once a year and always stay here and love it. I will be back there next year

Wifi was ok, staff can speak english, the room was clean.

Bad parking at streets - we had to go about 1 km to the hotel. Small bed and noise from the downstairs bar in the night. We realized that light does not work after 11 pm but nobody was at the reception so we had to take a shower in dark. Very far from the beach. Not worth the money but all other accommodations were sold.

All is well & good upon arriving at Hostal Cristina in the Old town of lovely Denia. The room was clean, if the beds were a little hard. First night all was okay. The second night an alarm in the hotel began to go off around 2 am. I am a light-sleeper, but hey, if an alarm is going off, there's a problem, right? A big, unsafe problem at Hostal Cristina. I went to check the source of the alarm, right outside my room on the second floor. I went down to reception on the first floor, and rang the bell. Nothing. I knocked on the door. Nothing. I called out. Nothing. I rang the "emergency" number on the sign. Nada. I went down to the bar, and knocked: it was all closed and locked up. So I rang it three or four times more. It just rang off. I then rang the emergency alarm people. She said it wasn't their alarm, that was now echoing all around Avenida El Cid. She suggested I rang the emergency services. I asked for the number. I rang Spanish emergency services (Spanish 911). Within a few minutes, at 2:30 am, 5 policemen and two Bomberos (fire-men) arrived. I was greatly relieved that the alarm was not a fire-alarm - as my 7 yo son was still sleeping in our room. The police contacted the (Russian?) owner of the hotel, who arrived angry & aggressive at 3am.
What shocks me most about this incident, is that we were the only occupants in the hotel, and that after the bar downstairs shuts at 11 pm, that there is no-one on site at Hostal Cristina. No night security is present, and the owner (who had been drinking?) lives off-site. Thank God for the Spanish Guarda Civil, who were kind, civil, and responded immediately.
Think *very* carefully before you book yourself in this Hostal! what if it had been a real fire?

Room tip: Don't book this hostal if you value your security.

With a climate as on the Costa Blanca of wich Dénia is part your hotelroom is just to sleep and freshen up after a long day of activities. The hotel is modest, but towels are changed everyday. In the small bar downstairs you can meet some interesting locals. It was Always our place to take a nightcap at realy good value before retiring to our small but comfy room

Room tip: Rooms at the back dont give you street noices, but the sparrows might wake you up in the morning. We liked their sound as in Antwerp there are not many left.
