“Disappointing”
Review of Amazona Zoo

Amazona Zoo

My kids wanted to visit the zoo whilst camping near Cromer.
The website makes it look a great place. £66 for a family ticket plus two adults.
The animals are limited. Habitats are not natural. Small. And the animals look so unhappy. The leopard had lost its mother some time back and all alone paces back and forth all day. The area for it small and boring. Same for the two panthers. Over all a very unhappy zoo. The highlight was the bouncy mat in the middle.

Dear Brian,
Firstly we are a small zoo of 15 acres that only specialises in South American animals so because of these factors we will have a limited number of animals here.
We do not house Leopards or Panthers here.
Our habitats are nothing but natural.......... we find that comment very strange!
The prices you state also do not correlate with us and we are left wondering whether you have reviewed the correct establishment.

We had an enjoyable half day at this little zoo. There are pleasant walks around the grounds to view the animals and a few extra activities for younger children to enjoy, such as the play areas and indoor soft play. I would echo the concerns of other reviewers of the limited space for some of the animals. That said we saw much evidence of conscientious care on the part of the staff that were active in the grounds.
It was a little disappointing to be grilled on the disabilities of our daughter (blue badge holder), as not all disabilities are visible.

I'm not a great fan of seeing animals in cages so I wasn't expecting much. For young children there is lots to do. There is a big bouncy play area , it's like a huge bouncy castle but doesn't have sides which the kids loved. Also an indoor soft play split for baby/toddlers and old children

This small zoo is dedicated to creatures from South America and so there are animals here you don't often see in mainstream zoos, ranging from the cute (maras) to the downright scary (anacondas). The enclosures are clean and tidy and the animals, including the big cats, seemed to be behaving normally. The pumas in particular seemed to be very relaxed, we saw them playing, resting and feeding. The keepers were knowledgable and really seemed to care about the creatures in their charge.
There are feeding demonstrations at different enclosures throughout the day, and the keepers' commentaries were very informative. We were lucky enough to see some of the large snakes being fed. However, some of the feeding is a bit gruesome - these are wild animals - so if you are of a squeamish disposition maybe give the otter and big cat feeds a miss ...

There is a nice children 's playground and a gift shop. The restaurant is fairly bog-standard but the food is perfectly fine and reasonably priced.

A great bonus is that it is easy to walk from Cromer town centre.

We visited amazons zoo earlier this year and had a good time with family including a toddler. Lot,s of picnic areas and the cafe has reasonably priced coffee. I would prefer not to see big cats in a zoo but the two that are there do have a reasonable run. Lot,s of play area,s and good value for money.
