We were on holiday in Fakenham and my daughter age 11 had seen this zoo on tv and had it as her "one place to visit" Went as a family of four, two adults two children (boy aged 5 and girl aged 11). It is a small zoo and is only really a half a day activity. Good selection of animals although I was a bit upset by the crocs who were missing lots of limbs and the big cat pacing up and down, this upset my daughter too. The zoo had addressed these issues with signs saying why they were like this but still quite sad. My son loved the crocs though and was glad they were fairly close to observe. Really nice that some animals were free roaming too as all four of us loved to see this :) Lovely outdoor play bit which we all enjoyed as a family. The cafe was reasonably priced too and offered selections that my son could have (milk allergy). The indoor play area was small but the kids loved it and it was nice and clean. The zoo offers a really good concession for disabled visitors which is carer in free but needs to be better advertised as couldn't see it on the website I only knew from carer forums. The gift shop is lovely and had lots of affordable pocket money toys the kids could buy! Nice idea to get stamps as the kids found the animals on their activity sheets but would have been nice to get a sticker or badge or something at the end of completing it like a lot of the other Norfolk attentions do. Worth a visit if you are in the local area!
