Still like this place very much. Quality has been maintained. The bartender knows the regulars and can serve them without taking their order. Fetuccini Genestra is a favorite of mine.

When we arrived in Mill Valley 31 years ago, La Ginestra was the sponsor for my son's little league team. We decided a visit was necessary. We haven't stopped coming here since. This is a family operated restaurant that is definitely welcoming to family groups. Children are always welcome. But that's not the only or most important reason to dine here. The ambiance is great, but the food is better. I could go on an on about the food, but the hands down favorite of everyone in our family is the home-made raviolis. They are to die for. Highly recommended.

We were looking forward to dining here based on a referral. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment, primarily due to the service. We had to wait 45 minutes for a bottle of wine to be delivered (they couldn't find it... so brought another) and it was very warm; obviously not stored at an appropriate temperature. Our food arrived 75 minutes after we placed our order. At this point, we were so hungry, you'd think that anything would taste good. The gnocchi was like wall paper paste, the lamb was quite good, and the saltimbucca meh. SO not worth the wait.

When we asked the waiter if it normally takes this long (the restaurant was not overly busy at this point - close to 9 pm), he shrugged his shoulders and said "it wasn't that long".

Won't return.

Wonderful small Italian restaurant with a great menu of fresh made pastas and veal selections. Definitely try a pizza and the calamari. The wild king salmon special was awesome. Great for families or intimate dinner. Very friendly staff.
