Description: Bowie's Tavern is located in the heart of the Historic District in Downtown Natchez. Overlooking the Mississippi River, Bowie's was originally a cotton warehouse. In addition to the bar and restaurant, Bowie's Tavern has guest rooms and a banquet facility perfect for rehearsal dinners and private meetings.

My friend and her family bought and renovated this location. It is the oldest building on the Natchez Trace. The building has a great interesting history. Reginia's food is superb. You won't be disappointed.

We visited Bowie's with a large family group because we had heard that it was a local favorite. It is in an interesting old building and there is plenty of dining space, but no decent accommodations for larger parties. There was excellent live music that added to the atmosphere. Most of the food offerings are bar type foods, don't expect anything special. We had fried onion rings, fried pickles and spinach dip for starters. For the entries we had fried catfish Po boys, shrimp po boys and pizzas. Nothing about any of the food was special or unique, just average. This is not your place if you are not into fried foods. The service was slow and their was a mix up with our tickets, so it took even longer. And this was all on a slow evening. Not one of my more favorite outings. I guess you can get spoiled with decent food and quality service.

Visited this establishment on a Saturday night. Placed was packed when we got there. It is not overly large, so don't expect to walk in with 10 people and find a place to sit. Food was good. Service was a little slow, but not unexpected considering the number of people there. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is more for ages 35+. Lots of 70's to 90's music..mostly rock and country. I wouldn't recommend a very young group visit, as the atmosphere seemed to be tuned towards a little older crowd. And this was nice, because there weren't many "hotheads" to worry about.

In the historic district of Natchez and the near Antebellum Bar back has a very unique history. Great food, service and better than normal Bar food. it appeared that they have Live Music frequently. Close to the nice "River Walk"

We intended to grab a beer in Bowies before heading to another restaurant. However, it had such a nice feel and the young lady who served us was so friendly, fun and pleasant that we stayed for supper. Good selection of beers, some fun, well-priced cocktails and a surprisingly good wine list. Food was first rate, especially the oval catfish. Well worth a visit.
