My wife, our 12 year old son and I stayed at Casa Divina for 6 nights in Dec 2016. We rented one of the bungalows. It was a great experience. The house was spotless and very spacious. The family style meals (breakfast and dinner) were great. The property is ~10 min outside of Mindo, but it feels like much farther away. It is very serene and a good location to get in touch with nature. Molly and Efrain are great hosts. They spent time with us every day going over possible excursions and adventures in the area. We ended up hiring Efrain for an all morning trip to famous Reserva Paz de la Aves, where we got to see the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, several Antpittas and lots of other bird. Efrain brought his scope and found lots of birds and a sloth that none of the other guides spotted. He took great photos with our iPhones through his scope. Anyway, we highly recommend taking a trip or two with him.

We took a taxi from the bus terminus in Mindo. From the moment Molly welcomed us we knew this was going to be special and we weren't disappointed. Beautiful setting, huge room with veranda looking over the cloud forest in a two storey chalet a few yards from the main building. The latter has a viewing room on the third floor. Coffee and tea are included, as much as you want. We went for a walk down the lane in the afternoon and saw a number of birds.
We were treated to a lovely evening meal and signed up for the morning bird walk. We started off at 6am on the viewing gallery with Efraim, where a number of birds could be seen, then we drove a short while and soon came across 6 Toucans sitting in the trees. We walked up the road and saw more and more birds, about 35 different species in all. Magic.
Words can't do justice to this special place

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights, certainly could have stayed longer. Molly was a wonderful host, our accommodations were perfect. The landscaping, the main lodge with its observation deck, the meals, the drinks, and the views were all magnificent. You certainly feel like your secluded the cloud forest, with a great chance to spot many birds of the area. You're also within walking distance to many other attractions and can easily walk into town if you want to connect with the locals of Mindo.

Highly recommend staying at Casa Divina - took each of these pictures right from the viewing area!

Room tip: Ask for a second-floor room!

This is a beautiful place. The lodge and the landscaping are beautiful. The cabins are comfortable and really nicely decorated. There isn't any heat but you have great blankets for the evening chill. The food is absolutely delicious. The soups were fantastic and there is enough of a choice to make everyone happy. They also serve wine, beer and local drinks. They are also willing to entertain special requests if you have a problem with what is being served. Everyone is friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. I spent two nights and it was absolutely relaxing.

Room tip: I was on the second floor of our unit and the view is great.

I can't say enough good things about Casa Divina. The lodge and rooms are beautiful, well constructed (by one of the owners, Efrain Taopanta), and comfortable. It's ideal for those who want solitude and quiet (but you can easily walk into the town of Mindo). It's also very family friendly (lots of games for kids). The cooking is great and they kindly accommodated my vegetarian diet. The 3rd floor of the main lodge is an open (but roofed) viewing area for birding. And speaking of birding, this is a one of the best regions in the world for birding, and Efrain is an exceptional birder and great, generous guide. If you have any interest in wildlife viewing, hire Efrain through their sister company Sabina Tours. It is set up to give travelers a great experience seeing birds and support local conservation.

Room tip: Room 6 has a great view into the forest for birding from the porch.
