Stopped for a late lunch on a Sunday enroute from Golden Bay to Christchurch, and remembered having read of the Patisserie which had opened in Murchison. Only two items left in the Pie warmer at 1.30pm, but oh! what delicious pastries they were. Butter chicken for Mama, and the potato, cheese and onion pie for me - Yum! Melt in the mouth pastry, and fabulous fillings - just wow! Lovely service and somewhere calming to sit away from the highway - pretty in pink......we finished our lunch with a caramel topped choux, filled with the most smooth chilled custardy cream - divine - if there had been another I would have eaten more, and Mama enjoyed an almondy Speculaar slice which she devoured with a contented look on her face. More seating is to be installed in the front of the Patisserie in September, and we look forward to eating here on our 3 monthly jaunts to Golden Bay as we travel in each direction.
