We stopped over while travelling up the coast. The room had everything we needed but was basic. The heaters had been left on for us but one was not working. Fortunately the room the kids were in was warm enough but the main room was cold. Also the heater was insufficient to warm the room up again in the morning. The bathroom was clean and the shower hot. I would not really recommend staying here in winter if you're at all bothered by the cold, but otherwise good.

I have never in my life written a trip advisor review but I really felt an urgent need to warn people of the horrors of this place. The experience at this motel was upsetting and terrifying. The owners are nasty bullies which I advise you all avoid at all costs. They are unaccommodating, unhelpful and down right nasty. The room itself is drastically insufficiently heated. It's the middle of winter and for the entire space (2 bedroom) we have only one small heater - will post picture. The windows are not double glazed and one in the bedroom does not close properly. If you have any sense do not stay here, it's a horrible place and I say this with all sincerity.

There can be no better place to stay than this motel. It's so lovely, located at such a lovely and scenic surroundings and so very reasonable too.
The Mount Cook can be viewed well from here and to have a better view, just drive on cook flat road for another kilometer or so. From here one can see Fox glacier so very clearly. The motel is very close to Lake Matheson too.
Wifi is free but limited. We had 500 mb/ person for each 4 of us.

Highly recommended.
