Perfect place for an overnight stay travelling up and down 1-75. Beautifully remodeled and the rooms were fantastic. Easy to get on and off 1-75 and there are food options close by. The staff is amazing and everyone was very friendly and accommodating to all request. Our front desk representative, Tommy, was amazing and provided us with very helpful information including recommending Marco's Pizza for quick, hot and delicious pizza delivered right to our room in less than 30 mins, which was perfect when travelling all day with children and very tired.

Added bonus is that there is a hot breakfast available until 9am which is great to hit the road again.

Well Done!

Room Tip: Choose a room facing away from I-75

We we're in town for a big USTA state tennis tournament with a dozen teens and their families. We booked in advance and had no problems getting the rooms/ sizes we needed. Rooms were nice and updated, plenty of outlets, desk for computers, etc.
It was very hot and humid outside and the air conditioner worked great and kept us cool at night.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We had team meetings in the dining area and the front desk manager made sure we had everything we needed.
The lady serving breakfast was so friendly and worked hard to keep the food fresh and refilled.
We will definitely stay there again since it's so close to John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Very nice shopping area with Barnes and Noble, Belk, Dicks and dining was just a few minutes away. Great location!

Location, staff, decor and comfortable all 5 star.
Our third stay in as many years and always perfect. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and genuine. Next time in Macon this is where we will stay for sure. Recent common area renovation turned out beautifully.

On our way to Florida we stopped off at RI in Macon. Great location and easy to get to from the highway. Comfortable rooms and the breakfast area the next morning had lots of choices. Will keep it in mind for our next big outing

We arrived at this hotel, early morning of 6/24/16; a part of a party of 3 couples and their children. A couple had arrived on the 23rd of June, while the 3rd couple arrived few minutes into our arrival. We found the door to the first room assigned us latched shut from the back and could not be opened. So we were given another room but then also found the lock of this second room defective the following day.

The first room assigned to the 3rd couple was found extremely dirty, with someone's food on a table and some personal effects, in a shopping bag, bed sheets and pillows thrown all over the bed. The staff who checked them in considered this gross negligence and decided to upgrade the couple to a 2 bedrooms suite. She assured that this was noted on their account.

But then on the 26th when this couple checked out, we got a shocker. They were charged the confirmed rate of $89 for the first night and $174 for each of the remaining 2 nights. This prompted us to ask that we check the charges on the 2 other rooms.

It was then, we found that the rates have been changed on us. For each of the rooms, we were being charged the confirm rate of $89.00 for the first night and $124 for subsequent nights.

Fortunately the same staff who checked us in was on duty. She called the manager Jim'Le Chatman on the phone, and Jim'Le Chatman confirmed to me over the phone that he changed the charges because he believed that we selected the wrong rate code when we booked online, but then I immediately informed him that we did not book online..We CALLED his hotel to make the booking and I also informed him that Tommy, one of his staff made the booking for us. Upon that he said he would talk to Tommy when he comes in at 3pm.

We spoke with Tommy when he came in at about 3pm. He said he could not understand why the rate was changed but he would try to resolve it.

Later in the evening my wife went to the lobby to ask Tommy if he has spoken with Chatman. He said no...but Chatman is on his way.

At about 10pm, Jim'Le Chatman came into the hotel accompanied by 3 men from Bibb County Sheriff's office, accusing us of criminal trespassing, shouting that he's refusing us services therefore we're trespassing on the premises.

The men from the Sheriff's office, seemingly being lead by one named; Johnson categorically told us that they did not want to hear a word from us, that they are giving us 5 minutes to pack and leave the premises, otherwise we would be arrested and taken to the county jail. The three followed us as went into our room and stayed on us as we packed and left the premises in the middle of the night.

What a nightmare! How can a hotel suddenly change the confirmed charges in the middle of a stay without prior notification? Simple sense of fair play demands that one is given the choice of accepting the new charges or reject it and find another hotel...

Hello

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at the Residence Inn Macon. Although my staff and I continue to do a great job of serving our guests and providing a comfortable and enjoyable lodging experience, it seems you are disappointed. Please understand we all take great pride and strive to make every stay exceptional.

There are certain cases in which we must request police assistance in solving a problem; however, this is not a position in which we ever want to result to. As the manager, I received numerous phone calls at home from my staff stating that members in your party was in the lobby of our hotel being extremely irate and acting uncivil. This was not the first occurrence, the same people in your party had previously displayed the same rude, impolite behavior to me personally. As an adult human being, I had never been spoken to by anybody as such. I had never seen such bad-mannered, insulting behavior from one person to another. After several request to withstand from such behavior feel on death ears, law enforcement was requested. It is unfortunate but we did feel that police involvement was the appropriate course of action considering the volatile situation that had developed in the lobby.
I am sorry this situation ended in this manner. We didn’t like what happened and we don’t like that you aren’t happy, yet we did what we thought was right.
As it pertains to the rate change, members of your party was notified that the rate attached to the reservations was the Government Per-Diem Rate. No leisure guest is allowed to stay on a leisure stay and receive this rate. The purpose of you and your parties stay was not government business.

In closing, I do thank you for your comments
