Other reviewers are right; first impressions aren't very favourable when you pull into this motel despite its fresh paint (with garish colours). But the rooms have been refurbished and are quite comfortable.

Pro. Friendly service. Good beds. New carpet. Rooms well serviced with good towels.
Con. It's still an old building with thin walls and floors. The furniture is something of a mishmash, and doesn't use space wisely. The toilets are child-sized. The internet is a little slow.

Overall, a fine base in a town where prices can be high and choices limited.

Nothing fancy but a practical motel with cable TV clean sheets and spacious rooms and bathrooms. The look of the place is a plus, it's clean and well tended to. If you plan a trip to Hurricane Ridge or Lake Crescent it is a good place to stop.

The Royal Victorian is not a 5 star accommodation but doesn't come with a 5 star price either. We found the rooms to be clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Great value at just over $100/night.

This was the worst motel we have ever stayed in. It had good reviews on other sites, apparently all made by the owners or their relatives. The bathroom shower grout had no grout unless it was a new kind of black stuff that was alive. We spent most of our time in the room chasing the flies down with a can of Lysol my husband went and bought. We would have gone somewhere else immediately but there were no vacancies.

Room Tip: Based on our disgusting room I would guess there are no good rooms.

The shower was covered in mold on both the tiles and up through every corner and smelled of mold. Went to the front desk to ask to be changed rooms and they said they were fully booked and the shower had mold because we booked 1 of the 3 lower priced rooms that didn't have airflow and wasn't renovated yet ($126/night), as if a moldy room perfectly acceptable. The walls were also a weird plastic material that were dirty and not wiped down. It had dark brown stuff running down them. Otherwise, the guy at the front desk was very nice.
