Great variety of Asian inspired food. I've lived in Japan for five years and really enjoy Asian food. The food hear is good and I enjoyed it a lot. Try the coffee chicken, you won't go wrong.

Ordered food and it was delivered to our table. They have a nice variety with some unique spins (coffee infused chicken for one). It was loud and difficult for conversations.

These folks just keep pulling us back. I have tried most everything on the menu at this point and have yet to be disappointed. Pot-stickers and coffee chicken is still my go to meal, but everything else is wonderful. The service is outstanding. The prices are quite reasonable. What more could be asked for. Perfect.

Thank Sean R

And I definitely got a gluten free meal quickly! I've seriously missed good Asian food as a Celiac, and this place does not dissapoint at all!
I don't remember the name of my meal, but it involved curry noodles. Very delicious. Definitely give it a go if you are in Albuquerque and wanting Asian. (Especially if you need to be gluten free!)

This restaurant occupies a small building at the corner of Carlisle and Central Avenue and has a tiny adjoining parking lot. It is an offshoot of Chow's Asian Bistro in Cottonwood Mall on the West side of the city, and shares much of the menu to be found at its sister restaurant. It is there, however, that the similarities end. Chow's is an attractive restaurant where the food is (by Albuquerque standards) quite decent and very nicely plated, and provided by friendly servers in a quiet atmosphere.. Fan Tang (the words seem to have no meaning in Chinese) by contrast, is small, often extremely noisy, and has jettisoned all of the things that make Chow's a pleasant place in which to dine. The owner, who seems to be a member of the family that operates Chow's, is very rarely seen at Fan Tang these days. As a result, the restaurant has become something like a ship lost at sea, rudderless and unsteered. For example, during a recent visit, we were scolded when we went to get napkins for ourselves from the table where they are set out for customer use. In another visit, on requesting some packets of yellow mustard, we were told that there were none, because "management had forgotten to order them." In our most recent visit, after placing our orders at the counter and seating ourselves, we waited for 15 minutes for our iced teas, which were provided only when we complained. Another 15 minutes passed and we were told that the hot and sour soup that we ordered was unavailable "because we are all out." For some reason it took half an hour for anyone to notify us that an item we had ordered was unavailable. We could go on, but to say more would simply be repetitious. The servers all seem to be new, and completely untutored in what it means to provide good service, or even friendly service for that matter. It's sad to see a restaurant go to pot like this, but it is almost bound to happen when there is absolutely no management oversight. No restaurant can be operated successfully on automatic pilot as this one is, particularly when no one on the staff seems to have any idea of how to perform the simplest tasks. We have had a number of pleasant meals here over the past several years, but unfortunately that s now a thing of the past. Diners seeking a decent Chinese meal in an attractive restaurant with good service should stay far away from this restaurant and make the trek to the West Side Chow's instead.
