We stayed in room 203 and it has been updated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Enjoyed the balcony with a view of the pond and territorial view. The room was very clean. Efficient use of space and details were thought of to make the stay comfortable.

We stayed here Aug. 15-18. She said our cottage was recently renovated. The bed was comfortable but the tiny shelves on either side are pretty much useless - can only hold a cell phone. There was no daily room/maid service, which is fine with me but I don't recall hearing them say there would be none.

The lobby has continental breakfast items and some seats for lounging if you choose.
The door on our room was hard to close so you kind of had to slam it. Good old fashioned keys make you feel like you've stepped back in time.

We had a view of the pond and saw many fish and people fishing. Our deck had a table and chairs but only part of it was covered and it rained the first two nights we were there.

The A/C u it was finicky. Couldn't get it to cool down enough for my liking, even having it set at 65 it never felt like it got there. There is a ventless fireplace which we did not use, a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom has a hair dryer and shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hand soap in dispensers on the wall.

It was very quiet and about 20 minutes drive to the park entrance. It is close to town but we drove over because we were reserving our legs for hiking, plus the rain.

Safeway grocery store is diagonal.

Beware, getting out of the driveway is tricky. There is a huge bump. My husband hit his head every time we left the place no matter how slow he went.

Stayed three nights at Discovery Lodge while hiking around RMNP. Overall, I was really happy with my stay. I wasn't sure what to expect given some reviews but my experience was positive.

Location is excellent, 10 minute walk to downtown, 15-20 min drive to the main RMNP gate and no street noise. Double queen was a great size for one person and would easily accommodate 1-3 more too. My room was updated but the bathroom with shower was not. Still, was fine for me.

Beds are really comfortable, cable/tv was nice after a long day hiking, and the mini fridge/microwave was so helpful for leftovers and food storage.

Staff was helpful and friendly anytime I interacted with them. Did not take part in breakfast because I was up early to hike every day, but it is available from 7-10am.

The entryway to the Lodge is not very clear, I missed it the first time. But that wasn't a dealbreaker. If you are arriving after dark though, FYI.

Would definitely stay again when I'm in town.

We spent two days in Discovery Lodge. The room was bigger than we expected and we have a balcony that give us a good view. We arrived very late to check in however the staff were there even though we didn't let them know we were late. We recommend 100%.

Room tip: parking in front of the door

Good location. Room was mediocre. A little dingy, dirty in spots. Could use some upgrades and deep cleaning. Pillows/beds not real comfortable. Be sure to book directly. Close to 9 hole golf course. Staff was friendly. Overall just “okay.”
