Once you find parking, it is a great place for an afternoon or evening stroll. Consignment, fashion, jewelry, shoes, etc. from here you can walk to RISD art museum, multiple art installations at Brown as well.

every time i visit Thayer it is a new adventure! whether we swing by the army surplus or thrift store for a good deal, the amazing pizza at Nice slice, or Flatbread pizza, asian food at shanghai, its always lively and they recently they have changed some of the store fronts johnny rockets is leaving and shake shack is moving in which is excellent,, the ice cream truck Mikes is there in the spring and summer on waterman street and their ice cream is stellar. the businesses, food, and parking are pricey, yes but you can spend hours on the few blocks that make up thayer street which is more than i can say about the providence mall

This street has declined with a lot of closures and less traffic resulting from all the expensive meters. Also many vagrants on street that ask for money and create lack of safety. Not much police presence. OK to go mid-day but not a place off hours.

Fun place to walk through to see the college life. Not much located here as far as stores but there are a few restaurant options for families. Cool place to visit at night for adults.

Collage kids rule here-but many older folks & tourists come to eat & shop here as well.Plenty to do in this area. Parking not so great-but parking is recommended on the few blocks toward the schools & Not on Thayer itself & walking to the shopping areas. Ethnic Stores,Gift Shops, 1 (Upper Class Only Labels)Consignment Shop, Upscale Stores, Starbucks, AuBonPain, Meeting Street Café, Chinese, Pizza, Italian, Artisan Food, etc.
