My husband and I went in to see the short film "1642". It advertised that a horrifying tale would be told and portrayed the film as haunting. It was narrated by a young woman who spoke with a pleasant voice, while wearing Puritan clothing. Though the film was very educational, there was absolutely nothing scary about it. We did enjoy the 30 minute movie, but the advertisement was very much misleading.

Independent movie theater, what's nice is they will have unusual or 'off the beaten path' films like The Cabot does in Beverly. Often times they will have movies that are most popular, but are otherwise limited in selection.

It's nice that it's in the India Square Mall because there are shops, a pizza joint, a tavern, and an Asian restaurant available. The theater is usually clean, seats are comfy, and the staff are always pleasant. We look here first for date night before we look elsewhere for going out to the movies.

This movie theater shows major films, but rarely has the large crowds and delays of the major movie theater complexes. An added plus is the tiny screening room, which offers art house selections.

Are you going to Salem to get into the spirit of Halloween? I recommend this show 100%. The show includes amazing magic that will entertain and fool everyone, even if you think you know how magic tricks work. Other parts are just shocking when there is obviously no trick, just an amazing performer.
Christopher Grace, the magician, started the show by walking on broken glass with his bare feet. He even let someone check his feet for wax or whatever. It wasn’t fake glass because you could hear the crackling under his bare feet, even over the screams of the audience. I mean, who IS this guy?
Later in the show, he stuck his fingers inside of a volunteer’s stomach and pulling out blood and guts. PERFECT FOR HALLOWEEN.
For the rest of the show he read people’s minds, telling them the names they were staring at in books, or showing he had predicted the initials of a volunteer’s cousin, who wasn’t even in the audience. The most amazing part was Chris talking about people we knew who were dead. We all wrote down people we had ‘lost’ and without ever looking at the papers we filled out, he was able to tell us who we were thinking of, and details of their lives. Really spooky! One woman next to me got really emotional, so don’t bring any friends who will be offended by this stuff, but if you want a truly spooky time this October, make sure to get to this show before OCT 31!

I completely agree with Laura's review. There was no magic at all and no psychic abilities either. This show should be cancelled for stealing people's money under the guise of it being a good magic show. If you watch the trailer, it gives a creepy, eerie feel that show is going to be scary, magical and you are not sure what to expect. What you can expect is to be disappointed, unless your are under the age of 11. Seriously, it is an insult to people's intelligence. Plants were so obvious as were the terrible magic stunts. Overall a bad decision if you decide to go
