This hotel was given to us by a bidding website based on 3 stars over spring break, 1 day before we left. We had always stayed on the Riverwalk, so the location was our hesitation. We were wrong! The hotel backs up to the backside of the Alamo wall, and the Firemen Museum. It is a straight shot off the highway without the noise of either the hwy or the Riverwalk/Alamo traffic. I hesitate to say it's even 1 block, more like 1/2 a block from the sights. Every employee/staff person at the hotel was as kind/professional as could be and could answer any questions we had. The hotel is designed suite wise with very large rooms with separate livingroom, bedroom, bathroom sections. Minimalist, modern décor and spotless clean. A small kitchenette comes with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Paul Mitchell bath products supply the bathroom. Wifi is free in room. Valet has in/out privileges and DO NOT think you will save money parking on your own. You won't. It's $24.00 and up self parking and it's the same for valet. San Antonio Riverwalk/Alamo area has little to no self parking available. Most lots you see are for valet services and not accessible. Save yourself the headache. Valet is fast and easy to contact with either a texting system from your ticket or call from the room. The check in has a small shop for purchases of quick snacks/food/toiletries and wines/beer and prices are actually fair. The breakfast is included each morning and is hot and a full buffet of waffles/eggs/bacon/sausage/toast/muffins/yogurts/cereals/fruits/juices/milk/coffee/teas. Newspapers are available daily. Pool is outdoors at street level and heated. We were there over Spring Break, thinking kids would be everywhere and noise constant....must have had the world's best behaved kids there....only saw a handful, never heard noise and rooms are very very quiet...and I know the hotel was full. A 3 minute walk gets you to the Alamo and access to the Riverwalk and nearly any restaurant/café possible. I was most impressed at check in when we reached our room and within 2 minutes we had a phone call from the front desk inquiring as to whether our room was sufficient and if we needed anything to accommodate our stay. Details matter! Well done. Would stay again anytime.

Room Tip: Ask for a room viewing the city as opposed to the highway.

Positives: Very friendly staff, very comfortable beds.
Negatives: one day of our three-night stay, housekeeping didn't come in (no, there was no sign on our doorknob to stay away). Also, despite several lamps, the room was dark to such an extent that it wasn't ideal for putting on makeup. Finally, the breakfast buffet uses all disposable cups, plates, utensils, etc. This is egregiously wasteful. In addition, instead of having a dispenser for milk, there was a fridge with half-pint containers. So, if you prefer milk for your coffee to the individual non-diary creamers they had out, you had to take a whole half-carton of milk for yourself and then, probably, throw the rest away. The hotel can save money & landfill space by dealing with this milk issue.

What I loved was the large rooms, the above average FREE breakfast, the convenient location and the great customer service! The breakfast was a true offering of delicious and healthy options. There was fresh fruit, proteins, nuts for your oatmeal. With their offerings there is no reason to spend money else where. The rooms where so spacious, 3 of us roomed together and we each had our own area. We were a stones throw from all the famous locations. I highly recommend this location.

Overall great stay
Pros
Five stars location close to river walk which we love
Affordable price
Clean
Reasonably comfortable queen sized 2 beds in the suite
Free breakfast
Cons
Breakfast 6:30 to 9:30am
On a weekend vacation stay that can be a struggle specially if you have children
There were 4 of us and to be able to all get ready (with one bathroom and one sink) meant that we have to wake up at 8 am to go down to breakfast at 9
We sacrificed breakfast the first morning
The second morning was the beginning of summer timing and appears the staff did not realize that so the breakfast was there until 10:30 and all of us were able to eat breakfast and it was delicious

Only 1-2 people at reception desk and with a hotel full for spring break that was very difficult

Parking was problem as the parking lot did not seem big enough to accommodate a fully booked hotel for spring break but that may not be a problem on regular days

The place has a very comforting feel. The staff is nice and friendly and is willing to answer any questions about the city. The complimentary breakfast they offer is pretty good. The hotel is near the Alamo and shopping center. Very convenient for sightseeing.
