It is a small, very intimate place off beaten Boardwalk restaurant path that was recommended highly by a friend at the meeting. Very thoughtful decor and seating with enough space between the tables that you don't feel as a part of other party's dinner. Its a white linens on the table - staff with bow ties type of place, but inoffensively casual - very friendly staff where the questions about food and wine were welcomed and answered in detail and yet we were given adequate time to enjoy the meal courses - we never felt rushed, although or 7-course tasting dinner with wine pairing lasted at least 4 hours. And it was most amazing, thoughtfully and with love prepared food that tasted and looked like it was the finest art! All dishes were prepared from organic locally sourced ingredients and each one came with wine that accentuated the flavors perfectly. During the meal some courses were the same for my husband and I, others differed, so it was, really - 12- course tasting menu, because we could also taste each other's dish. I don't claim to be an expert in food and wine, but i do have a diverse experience with both and to me it was worth the time, price and the travel - this meal was the best part of the whole trip to San Antonio.

From the minute we sat down, everything was fantastic. Our server was over the top and accommodated our special request of a 4 course tasting paired with wine (we were a little pushed for time). Each course was delicious, special shout out to the lamb chop and the jam on the side, we took some home with us. On a weekend of eating non stop, this was the best in San Antonio!

We went for my wife's birthday and had the 10 course tasting dinner with wine pairing. We were very disappointed with the dishes and wine. Service was okay. The 10th dish was a 8 oz. tenderloin! After 9 sampling dishes it was not very appealing to have a that. Will not go back nor recommend.

Had one night for dinner alone before attending all of the wedding festivities, which is what brought us to San Antonio. What a great find! Intrigued by the restaurant's everything is old school, doing without as they did before the break of the industrial revolution. We booked a table outside, which over looks the Riverwalk. As chance would have it it rained just before we got there for our reservation. We were given a choice of a table inside or a seat at the bar. A very quant and quiet bar which looks directly in to the kitchen. It's a front row seat to a symphony of cooks preparing, cooking, and plating not only your dinner but everyone else's in the restaurant. The prix fix menu is the way to go. its a gastronomical feast. We opted for the five course menu and loved every choice we made. I won't mention the menu because it changes every week based on the seasons and what is available form the local farms and markets. Having a few allergies I mentioned this to our waiter and the chef was more than accommodating, whipping up dishes that weren't even on the menu. Highly inventive. This is a great place for a romantic dinner or small get together with friends who love food.
