Melanie and Derek are true professionals in their field. The experience inspired a whole new appreciation for the care and detail required to deliver high quality, socially conscious chocolate. We had no idea what all is involved! Learned so much and the best part...the chocolate was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend.

Derek, Melanie, and Mark have created a wonderful, magical gem of a place. The cacao is sublime and the energy is welcoming, inviting and inspiring. I recommend to JUST GO...you will be happily inspired and uplifted whether it is for a tour, class or to taste a hand-made truffle or cacao elixir. Spend some time sitting at the elixir bar for a chat with either Derek, Melanie or Mark!

What a cool shop, tucked away in a semi industrial area. Off the beaten path, but well worth the trip out. Only 6-8 min from down town Santa Fe, this shop was a real treat. Brought in my wife, 2 teen girls and mother-in-law. Hd some great Cacao drinks, specialty coffee. And yes chocolate ! All made on location. The Chocolate is actually made there from Cacao .. not remelted Hershey's !
Had the "flight" of 3 different Cacao drinks. Was so unique, and different. All were great.
Loaded up with some bars and specialty pieces to take home !

The owners were great people, easy to talk to. This is a must stop in Santa Fe

Attended the two hour class with Melanie. She presented a clear and informative talk on chocolate from bean to final product. Class started with an offering of coffee or hot chocolate and ended with your choice of a chocolate from the many that Cacao offers.
This is NOT a cooking class. Explained the differences between the artisanal choclatiers and the mass markets chocolates.

We had a wonderful end to our afternoon of sightseeing with a presentation on chocolate making at this outstanding shop. The proprietors were interesting g and informative, and the chocolate was first-rate. Tip: Try the drinking chocolate.
