Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am Saturday and Sunday which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, Steak & Eggs and Huevos Rancheros.

We did not go to the original Bobcat Bite, but took the opportunity this visit to go and try Santa Fe Bite. Everyone agreed that MY Green chili burger was the best. Of course, after giving three other family members a bite, there wasn't much left. Quick service and appreciated since we had two young busy grandsons with us. The location is an easy walk from the plaza just across E. Alameda on the Old Santa Fe Trail.

Give it a try!

We enjoyed our visit. I had the green chile cheeseburger and chile cheese fries. Burger was slightly undercooked but very tasty. My son had chicken flautas which were also quite good. The dining room was nice with a vintage car feel and had much better service than some other restaurants we've visited in Santa Fe on this trip.

We loved this restaurant when it was Bobcat Bite and only offered hamburgers. Now it's conveniently in town with a much larger menu but just not the same as before. Good location for breakfast and people watching in the summer.

They were super busy but we got seated quickly. The hostess was super sweet but she was so busy trying to take care of tables and the front door. Everyone waiting on us seemed cheerful though we didn’t have just one waiter/waitress??? The food was good and fresh. The fresh chips were a bit crunchy but that’s pretty normal. Overall, we had a good experience and we would go back. For 4 people we ended up with a $70 bill for burgers. So be prepared for expense. That seems to be the norm around here as it is obviously a tourist area.

Ok the green chili cheese burger was truly fabulous! Also order sweet potato fries and the chocolate cake for dessert. The burgers are big and the selection of beer on tap was very good. The local brown nut beer was very good
