This was a very ordinary small motor inn! It had been remodeled but rooms still had a bad musty order! The rooms were very small but there was a large TV & dressing area table! The first room we had the smoke alarm kept going off with a low battery! They moved us to another room but still had stale odor! The only thing that was nice was the sheets & towels! They were new! Everyone says the location is good but I’m just glad we were only there one night! If location is the most important thing for you then this inn is for you! However, if a nice room is important to you, I would keep looking!

Can’t beat this hotel for proximity to everything Downtown Santa Fe. Literally one block to all the galleries, shops, and restaurants. As for the property, the positives are a clean room and comfortable bed. However, there are several negatives, including obvious evidence this is an old property that is in dire need of a face lift. Paint is peeling, the bathroom door was a sliding barn-type door that did not completely cover and close the opening (no privacy), sink did not drain well and would have overflowed if the water was left on for too long, and the drape did not completely cover the window to the balcony. Note that there is a $10 per night parking charge, as well. Overall not a bad value if you understand the shortcomings.

I stayed at the El Sendero in June of 2021. I had previously stayed there when it was Garrett’s Desert Inn). The whole place has been remodeled and my room was very nice for a good price. The bathroom was new and clean with a very nice open shower. The bed was wonderful and had new bedding that was very plush. It was very neat, attractive, and clean. Everything was very nice and the $10 per day to park (0n a new, very large parking lot) was nothing to pay since you could walk out of your door and be in downtain Santa Fe in minutes. Finding parking and walking for blocks and blocks is too much trouble.
The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will stay here again. It is perfect for downtown Santa Fe -the rates were very reasonable - it was newly and beautifully decorated - it was extremely clean - and the parking is a bonus.

We stayed here for a few nights in April 2021. The place was nearly empty, so it was nice and quiet. The rooms have been renovated. The furniture is new, the bed was comfortable and there is a fridge in the room. The pool was not open when we were there, but we were allowed to lounge poolside and relax. This motel is very conveniently located to the Plaza in Santa Fe, very walkable.
