Great updated hotel with throwback feel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Mar 2024
The Palm Garden is a great hotel for a stay at Thousand Oaks .It has an old school vibe but has been recently updated. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and updated.
It has a centrally located pool/hot tub. The grounds are well kept and clean.
Service was pleasant and responsive. There is a nice breakfast offered as well. Added bonus is a supermarket a very short walk away.
Location is very close to the 101 and close to everything in the Thousand Oaks area.

Great office staff and housekeeping. Beautiful grounds. Look forward to new Bar and Grill. Breakfast is an add on. Treat animals as valued guests. Stay makes it easier to see family 8to 19 days per month. Close to freeways and great dog park. Indian restaurant across lot is splendid.

Room tip: Everything about stay were great. Go once each month to see grandkids. Dog treated like queen. Entire staff is friendly and excellent. Close

This is an attractive property, located right off the 101 Frwy. Overall, it was a pleasant, quiet stay, and clean room. The only minus was its arguably somewhat below-average complimentary breakfast (the scrambled eggs were a bit overly firm and there were no pastries, just toast and bagels).

What a nice hotel and wonderful customer service. The rooms have been recently redecorated. Very clean and appealing. The breakfast was amazing… Two types of scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, oatmeal and mini other choices. We would definitely come back again… Especially for the price.

The hotel itself was very basic but clean and had been renovated. The included breakfast consisted of scrambles eggs, sausages, hash browns, oatmeal, bread, orange juice and coffee. Rooms were quiet, located by Ralph's and a gas station. The staff was generally efficient and courteous except when we tried to check out there was a long line of 8 people because the one person was on the phone and the other, Maria, walked in late to work then took her time while the other gal checked out 4 people in the time Maria checked out one. Could use more staff and better water pressure in the shower.

This "motel" style hotel was quite nice. We only stayed for one night, and the only reason I am giving it 4 star is because we had a lot of trouble with our room key which was frustrating and I didn't appreciate the lady's comment telling me to calm down (a lesson in customer service would be suggested here) - she didn't understand we were very tired from travelling all day and we had gone back and forth twice about the key issue and it was quite a far walk from the lobby. It worked once and the rest of the time it never worked. The room itself was really nice and renovated - the bed was very comfortable. Note that this hotel is located right next to the highway so make sure you request a room away from the highway if you don't like noise. We were lucky as the guy at the front desk gave us a room away from the highway, but it was really far away from the elevator (they only have one), so we had quite a walk.
The breakfast the following morning, which was included, was excellent.

Dear Joanne0554,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel during your stay in November. I am happy to hear your enjoyed your one night stay while in the area! In regards to the front desk agent interaction, I am truly sorry for your experience. I understand the key not working multiple times after a long day is a big inconvenience. I will be sure to address this matter so we can improve for future guests. Lastly, I am glad you enjoyed our complimentary breakfast in the morning before your departure. We look forward to welcoming you back on property in the future and being able to offer an improved check-in experience.
Have a great day Joanne0554!

Warm regards,
Daniel Yancey
