Listen, I was grateful to find this place, and the front desk guy was friendly enough (and recommended Brix restaurant), but this place is basic. Clean, but basic. For $160 a night, I had hoped for better.

It looks like an old motor lodge that got some fresh carpet and paint, but it still needs some help. Two different sized beds in the room. Crappy vent fans, no screen on the Windows, and btw, our back window didn't even fit on the track. It's just kind of balanced in the frame (room 131). The train tracks are right across the street, so the noise is obnoxious, all night long.

The pool area is actually pretty nice, and it appears to be heated. Breakfast was included, but I didn't eat it.

This is a room I would have expected to pay a maximum of $70 for. At $70, this would have a been a great value, and I likely wouldn't complain at all. But for $160, it doesn't make the cut.

The rooms have recently been updated and look great! The bathroom is bigger than average and there is space for toiletries on the corner shelf unit. I was pleasantly surprised upon check-in that a free breakfast was included. The breakfast is buffet style held across the parking lot in a separate building. There is a good selection of breakfast items and plenty of tables and chairs to sit and relax while eating.

Room Tip: King suite has bigger bathroom

If you are looking for an overpriced dump to stay, then this place is for you! They advertise themselves as a hotel! THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! this place should come under the heading SEEDY MOTEL. the rooms are small and yucky with chipped everything. It's the sort of place you go into and think, "My God! I have to stay HERE!!" This is very much BUYER BEWARE. you are better off sleeping in your car. The scary rooms come with a scary breakfast included in the exorbitant price which includes poor quality ingredients. A very nice overworked guy is trying to keep everyone happy with freshly made waffles.

OMGG - I read reviews of the hotel and thought that as a heavy sleeper (who once slept through an earthquake), I would not be bothered by the noise mentioned by reviewers. The trains ran so often that it felt like every train in the US used the line, and each time it went past it was SO incredibly noisy that I was kept awake for the whole night (too noisy to watch TV or hold a normal conversation). It felt like the train was running through the room with clanking and squealing like I have never heard. The receptionist and person on breakfast duty were very friendly, and the breakfast had hot choices with waffles cooked to order, but gosh I could not have done two nights here. The room was OK, with a microwave on top of a fridge in the corner, but it felt a bit run down and due to this and the noise of the train (did I mention that?) I don't think I could recommend it. As a minimum, I would take ear plugs but not sure they would block it out.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor at the back of the property, perhaps others are quieter.

There are many great things about this motel. Firstly the pool which is big enough and heated. A lovely place to relax. The rooms are ok but could be bigger. Beds are really comfortable but they use loose sheets so at the end of the night it looks as if you have had a battle in there. Showers are world class. Never been in a better shower, anywhere. Easy to use, soaks from above and lots of water. The breakfast is ok - just that, not great not bad. Finally the location is good. Just up from downtown and near the mall.

Room Tip: Get rooms on the top level
