You can order sushi or you can order teppanyaki (teppan style). This means a cook comes preparing food right in front of your table on a huge griddle. The Sakura restaurant is inside the Doubletree Hilton.

Staying at doubletree hotel on tour of the west. Decided to eat in hotel as weather was wet.
First time in teppanyaki, service was very good and chef entertaining. Mid week the restaurant was not busy.
Food plentiful , you don't need a starter. Prices reasonable, good relaxing evening. Look out for the ring of fire!

Thank graham c

This place was good for what it was. It's a smaller restaurant inside the Doubletree hotel. It was extremely busy for a Tuesday night and because of how busy they were and how small the restaurant is, it was crazy loud in there. We made reservations earlier in the day thankfully. Our seven year old just recently experienced a teppanyaki table for the first time and has been asking us to go again. We found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a shot. Service was a little slow initially. It took awhile to get orders in and awhile for the chef to show. Once he did show, he was nervous and a little shy. Super sweet though. He eventually warmed up and put on a fun show for our table. He is still a little new to the style of cooking but did pretty good. It was obvious to us, not at all obvious to the kiddo. The place we go to at home has some exceptional chefs so our bar is a little high. But this is Flagstaff, and this is a Tuesday night and everyone has to start somewhere. He was incredibly nice and great with our son and that was the point of the whole dinner for us in the first place. The reason I can't give it four stars is because my husband wouldn't let me. He is admittedly snobby about his food experiences and he fought me tooth and nail on that fourth star. We met in the middle at 3.5 but that isn't an option. We had a nice evening and enjoyed the food. I'm not really willing to get hung up on the other stuff. My son would give it 4 stars. :)

Fish overcooked and scallops. The reason to go here is the atmosphere. Two sauces were not good. Service was excellent with asking for split bills for our group of 12.
