It's an honor just to be there. The documentary prior to the ride out to the memorial was very well produced. Unfortunately for us the ramp on the memorial was damaged and subsequently closed for repairs. The Navy boat took us out to the site. After visiting the memorial there is a ton of other stuff to do at that location. Lots of cool WW2 artifacts situated all over the place. One thing I don't understand is people taking selfies with the memorial in the background. I just don't get it. It's like talking a selfie at the 9/11 memorial. Not in good taste. Such an important place to visit, control yourself with the selfie impulse.

Even without the actual memorial visit - the trip is worth it. The movie is very good - reminding us all what happened - and the cruise out to the memorial focuses nor just on the Arizona but on all the lives lost that day. About as solemn a place as we can get these days.

It was very moving. Even though I'm very versed in WWII history, especially the Pacific theater, I learned a lot.

It's a good film and overview but better when you could disembark at USS Arizona. But they still do a good harbor cruise around the Arizona and Missouri.

Although the actual site is closed due to potential unsafe conditions (cracks) we did enjoy the boat ride that is offered instead. We arrived at 9:00 AM and our tour was scheduled for 11:45 AM. There is time for other things.to do there while you wait.
