Great location, priced right for families, clean, awesome staff, secure & everything that you need is in walking distance...the convenient ABC store, the beach, entertainment, great restaurants and shopping of all kinds. We will definitely be back & stay here again!

We arrived early after a long flight at approximately 0730am, and our apartment was ready. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 adults which was perfect. 2 x bedrooms, bathroom, lounge/dining room, kitchenette and 2 x balconies.

There is also washing machine and dryer facilities on level 2 and level 7 which are available for a small fee ($2.50 USD for washing machine & $2.00 USD for dryer and washing powder was supplied in our apartment).

The apartments have no restaurants, however there is a Japanese and an Italian restaurant located beneath the apartments. Apartments are well equipped with pots, pans, plates, crockery, cutlery, glassware etc. In addition, there is an ABC Store underneath the apartments which have basics available - food, drinks, toiletries, gifts, souvenirs etc. Hotel also supplies free tea, coffee and juice throughout the day.

There is no pool, however the pool at the Outrigger on the Reef is available for guest use which is only minutes away. The beach is also accessible and is also within minutes walking distance.

Parking is available, but a cost of $20 USD applies.

Internet is free in your apartment, but there are no business centre facilities if you dont have a laptop and Wi-Fi is not available.

Doors are locked from 7pm - 7am each day for security, and access is no problem with your room key.

The apartment style accommodation was fantastic as was the location. It is located on a quiet street and is within walking distance to the beach, shops, and the main street - Kalakaua Avenue.

There is a small but good farmer's market nearby on Kalakaua Avenue on Thursday and Saturday and another much larger one Diamond Head Road on Saturday mornings.

Across the road is a VIP Car Rental place and another located approximately 10 minutes walk away.

Only recommendation would be to have a computer available for guests that dont travel with laptops, and even better have Wi-Fi available.

We loved our 9 nights in Hawaii and I would definitely come back again. If I/we do have the opportunity to visit again, I would definitely stay at the Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk as it was perfect!

Thank you!
:-)

We would definitely come back here again if we were so lucky as to be able to schedule another trip to Honolulu.

Tips:

Room was spacious for two people, but might be tight if there were two children as well.

We had a car. The website said parking in the hotel lot was not guaranteed, but the lot was no more than half full at any time in our visit and never a problem.

If using GPS, be careful to check that it is directing you to the 255 Beachwalk in Waikiki and not the one 20 miles away in Waimalano. (You'd be surprised how 11+ hours on the plane can dull your common sense.) If you end up over there, make sure to see the statue of Hawaiian sumo wrestler Akebono at the strip mall with the Jack-in-the-Box.

The kitchen has a decent selection of pots and pans and dishes. The Foodland in the Ala Moana shopping mall is very bad. Better off trying the Whole Foods, which has great selection and surprisingly reasonable (compared to Foodland and considering it is Hawaii) prices.

The complimentary juice in the lobby is great.

Short walk to the beach. It pays to walk a couple of minutes toward the Hilton Hawaiian. You'll get a lot more room. The beach at Ala Moana park is also nice and has more local flavor. Plus you can pop over to DQ at the mall for a mid-afternoon snack.

There is great shopping at the mall and along Kalakaua Avenue.

We went to Orchids, Il Lupino, and The Pineapple Room for dinner. All were very good.

The hotel discourages taking towels to the beach, which is a drag.

The pool at the Outrigger down the street isn't that great, but we prefer the ocean, anyway.

There is a small but good farmer's market nearby on Kalakaua Ave Thursday and Saturday and another much larger one farther afield on Diamond Head Road on Saturday mornings.

My in-laws golfed and thought the golfing was passable, though not as good as Maui.

Internet was fine. Ethernet connection. There are a lot of wireless signals around but I could never get on one.

Have fun!
