I stayed at the hotel from 20th to 30th July 2018. The hotel was in a prime location in Waikiki but more of a tower of rooms rather than a hotel really! The reception is a hut in the lobby area (between Eggs and Things and the lift to the bedrooms). The staff here do the job but are not particularly friendly or welcoming. Having said that, one member of staff did sort out a car parking place for me at the hotel, after the first day we had to leave our hire car four blocks away in another hotel, but other than him, they were all fairly surly! Our room (I stayed with one of my daughters) was comfortable (we each had a small double bed), with a good shower in the non-bath room! The housekeeping staff kept our room in good order, with clean towels daily and beds made (although not changed during our stay, as far as I was aware). There is a resort charge of $26 a day, which covered our use of Wifi, a coffee machine in the room, a paper, use of a room safe, use of DVDs (which we used extensively) etc. However, given this is the rate for most hotels, it seemed excessive for the services we actually received at this budget hotel (and added $260 to our final bill!). There were some minor issues, for example, the refrigerator in our room was extremely smelly. We did try and keep a few things in this but they ended up smelling too - so we couldn't store the products in this, we would have liked too i.e. we would have liked to have had some breakfast items (my daughter is vegan, so found it really difficult to cater for her needs, with few restaurants having vegan options) but the state of the fridge made this impossible. If we had had a baby with us and needed to store their food/milk, this fridge would have needed to have been changed - it was awful! The is also construction work going on next door i.e. it appears either another budget style hotel is being built OR apartments, and this commences at 6am in the morning. Not good if you want a lie in!

Room Tip: Go for a sea view if you can afford it - we had a side sea view but a full sea view would have been much more pleasant.

Stayed here in November last year, price was really reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The location of this hotel is amazing, right on Waikiki beach, literally come out of the hotel lift, cross the road and you're right there in the perfect spot!
Rooms were cleaned daily, had a coffee machine, small safe, tv had a ps3 with it and reception gave us a card which we could use to rent movies from a machine for free, great choices too, had all the latest releases so this was a pleasant surprise.
Views from the rooms at the front of the hotel are incredible so would recommend spending a little extra for these rooms.
Had a very enjoyable stay in Hawaii, this is a great base for anyone looking to stay in the Waikiki area on a budget.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have incredible views

This is the place I will stay in Waikiki. The location cannot be beat. The beach is at your door with many restaurants and everything else you need. The front desk staff are great. They are professional, take their jobs seriously and do it all with a smile. It is a small boutique hotel with rooms to match. The bathrooms are modest and rooms on the smaller side but perfect for your visit. You won’t find better value, a better location on cleaner spot. The balcony with the beach view was a nice treat for my morning coffee.

We were in Waikiki for 1 night on way home after visiting other islands. Stayed in top floor ocean front room which had an awesome view - for our family of 4 this was perfect for one night as I already knew in advance the room would be tiny and we would have to share two small double beds. If you can accept the small room - it is worth it for the great location and views

This hotel gets a solid 3.5 stars. Were it not for the fact that the Circle Hotel is in DESPERATE need of updating, as in a complete overhaul, they would’ve received 5 stars! The hotel is quaint, small (by comparison), has unbeatable views from any room, good customer service, and is directly across the street from the beach... which in and of itself is INCREDIBLE! There is even an equally small but VERY popular restaurant on the premises (10% discount), and an ABC convenience store next door (you will pay for the convenience).

The bathroom, and rooms them-self are very small, with 2 beds, with an OLD looking carpet and bathroom fixtures, not to mention a dingy/slightly grimy tiled shower floor that needs a good scrubbing/cleaning/tile restoration. It’s as if the ENTIRE hotel is stuck in a time warp from the 70s! Meanwhile... a complete renovation of a same sized hotel is going on right next door (get with the program Aston Circle!!!). It’s s good thing that one doesn’t really go to beautiful Hawaii to spend all that much time in the room.

YOLO... true... and it is Hawaii, so remember to bring LOADS of money for excursions, to eat, and to buy such little things that we take for granted on the mainland (e.g., water $5 for a 6-pack; $2.50 for a chocolate bar; and inflated prices for what we’d consider cheap staple foods... McD’s, Subway, BK, and Kentucky to name a few. If you find the staple restaurant prices to be expensive, then you’ll really get sticker shock when it comes to restaurants you’d typically visit to eat dinner at... PF Chang’s, Hardrock Cafe, Tony Romas)!

Take your own favorite snacks and pack water in your checked luggage if you have space/weight limits available. Flip flops, a good pair of sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses are the only attire that one needs (and perhaps a poncho...pick one up from Dollar Tree or Family Dollar before you go, because you’ll not find those stores there!)!
