Like many areas of Yellowstone, this area of thermal features requires some hiking - including some pretty steep climbs. But the bubbling mud, steaming cauldrons, and algal mats are fascinating. This stop gives you a good idea of just how volatile much of the park really is. From near the highest point, there are some good views across the road.
