One of our favorite meals in Yellowstone. It's busy and plan to wait if going at the rush hour but wow, the ribs were awesome and loved the Roosebelt beans!

We arrive at 6pm and put our name into the queue. It took about an hour to get seated, but the wait on the porch rocking chairs actually made the time go by fast. Our group had the ribs, burger, and bison burger. All food was good. But this is one of those places, in my opinion, were you visit once to experience it, but would not make it a regular stopping place.

Huckelberry icecream was a treat. Nice selection of barbequed beef. Students from all over the world worked there. The lodge closed on Labor Day and served their last breakfast the morning we were leaving. There is a general store there and a pay phone located outside.

We spent the last night of our week of camping at Yellowstone celebrating our son's 13th birthday in the Roosevelt Lodge Dining Room. He had the ribs and enjoyed them thoroughly. We were a party of 7 but our wait was only about 30 minutes (we knew to anticipate a wait). Some of us rocked on the porch, others enjoyed the bar. There is also a shop next door as an option to pass the time.
It was a perfect spot for our last evening, and the cabins looked like an appealing option for our next visit.

This is actually a pretty good dining choice but, at the end of the season, personnel is drastically reduced. The remaining kitchen staff (Estimated to be about 34% of peak) is due in part to students returning to school. They were generally pleasant and hardworking despite their extra workload, but the downside was exemplified by my wife's first dinner. The pan-fried trout was advertised as coming with a topping of pecans and lemon butter. It arrived with neither topping, and the kitchen's solution was to have the server bring a dish of pecans to the table! At subsequent meals, meatballs and ribs were both way too salty.
Keeep in mind that we were there on the last weekend of the Roosevelt season, so I have to cut them some slack. Besides, breakfasts were uniformly very good.
