Amazing view across the lake from the pool.
Cold beer, fantastic samosas. Think the place is having a bit of a refurb . Also good to see the old ox cart pulled out into public view , it would be amazing to see it put back into service taking clients for sundowner safari's,maybe down to coles monument.
We use this place regularly and its not usually that busy ... for a quick swim and a spot of lunch whilst you are on the road . Or just a touch of afternoon relief from the heat.
The food is great and the kitchen has just had a refurb. It's really great to see some money being spent on this historical lodge , once the home of lord cole.
The historical house contains the restaurant and bar areas it's a shame coles actual bedroom isn't available to stay in,(missing a big dollar moment there guys) I certainly would love to stay in a 1920s Kenya themed room...
We love this place and hope they don't overdo the refurb , on a really selfish level we hope it remains a quiet gem of a lodge, but I'm sure the view will always be probably one of the best in Africa .

Do you need quiet time, with only birds and whistling breeze? This is the place to be. Thanks Mwai and team. We had a fabulous time.

Now to the ratings.

Plus - great staff, clean rooms, comfy beds, peace and quiet.
Food OK
Budget friendly.
Swimming pool - can be quite hot.

Minuses- relatively few activities especially for kids.

Thanks.

Spent a relaxing weekend here to get away from the bustle from Nairobi. The hotel is very well-located, beautiful views of the lake and a close proximity - you can walk right down to the shore and see awesome birds and flamingos. We also did a great 4 hour hike up the Ugali Hills with Joseph, who was a great guide. The grounds are really pretty. Service is good. Rooms are a little old and food is fine (drinks are cheap for being so isolated!), but in line with value for money given the location. Would definitely return. Nice pool.

We were glad to choose Jacaranda Hotels-Lake Elementaita Lodge for Our Christmas Holidays. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the staff were very polite and courteous especially Timothy and Mr Bean who went out of his way to make sure the kids were entertained

It would have been 5 stars if the place was better looked after.
Food is average.
The best most friendly staff you can find anywhere.
Very cosy comfortable rooms.

Ill back definitely because of the environment, serenity and overall relaxing experience.

There is a swimming pool too with deck chairs.

No wifi except in the lounge dining areas.

Dear M_Bajaber,

Thank you for sharing this review.

We are glad that you will be back because of the serene environment and that you had a relaxing experience while here. We are equally happy that you found our staff to be very friendly and our rooms offered the comfort that you expected.

We have also noted the areas we did not do well and i would want to assure you that we have a short and long term plan to carry out some refurbishments. On food we would have appreciated if you expounded a little bit but we will work towards improving the same. Currently Wifi is only available in the main public areas but we also have plans to install them in the rooms in the near future.

Kind regards,

Moses Rotich
Lodge Manager
