We booked a room and got a completely different one and when asked why and want to be moved, they said have you touched anything and I said we have only just got in here, they finally moved us and it took them three hours to do this and their attitude was not nice! Unfortunately we had heard it was nice and the room we got was not cleaned properly with newspapers still stuck down the couch and hair everywhere, especially the price we had to pay. The Spa employees were very good and would recommend a couples massage. Breakfast was ok

Let me start by saying we had an INCREDIBLE time. The Fijian people are without a doubt the most welcoming, warm, genuine, happy, and loving people we've ever had the opportunity to meet in all our world travels.

We are a family of 3 (10 month old) and stayed for a week in a lagoon pool, 1 bedroom suite, in early February 2018. For us, we were simply looking for a complete relaxing holiday and were quite happy to stay within the resorts for the entire 7 days.

The Radisson meet all of the above requirements and we couldn't have chosen better. I checked out all the other Hotels along the strip and I think for a young family you can't beat the Radisson for overall set up and the pool is simply perfect. Shade cloth's were a big plus for us and our baby had a wonderful time in the lagoon style pool.

Weather: Not too bad at all. Most days there was a late afternoon downpour at 5pm for an hour or so but it was a real mixed bag across the 7 days.

Room: We were in a top floor room which we requested in advance (was confirmed on arrival but they wouldn't prior) and it was perfect. A rolling door separates the bedroom from living and kitchen which was useful in moving the sleeping baby around when we retired to bed each night. Completely functional, with dryer/washing machine/dishwasher and everything you could need for a week stay. We had plans to cook but never eventuated. PS - They are updating some of the rooms starting closest to the reception.

In summary, this Hotel is an absolute winner for young kids. It's VERY likely we'll be back and we tend not go to the same place twice.A few special mentions regarding some of the staff that truly made it a memorable experience.....

Breakfast Team - Tulia!!!!!!!!! What an absolute superstar and took such good care of our little guy whenever he looked a little bored or cranky at the table. To be fair, ALL of the staff in the morning were amazing but Tulia really did go out of her way each and every day to make sure we had a lovely and relaxing breakfast.

Ilmo - Just the nicest guy you will ever meet. So accommodating, and made sure that we were 100% happy with every aspect of our stay. If you look up the definition of 'excellent customer service' you will surely find a photo of Ilmo who really was a stand out during our entire visit. In actual fact, I have stayed all over the world in 5 star hotels and this young guy could easily be running the F&B Section at any of them.

Another couple of special mentions / Eugene, Solo, Dervenia (?) - Thanks for all of the generosity you showed us throughout or stay!

It really was very sad to say goodbye to all the staff who clearly put their heart and soul into their jobs - Thank you to all and we will be back!

I have stayed here twice - once with the kids & the other as a couple and both times it was great. I would recommend though that you ask for a renovated room as the older room that we had was quite dated. It will be good once all the rooms are done. Super comfy bed, lovely tropical grounds, nice pools & great friendly staff. The meals we had at the Thai restaurant & blu brassiere were fantastic. It’s easy to get around to the other resorts & down to the port. The wifi wasn’t great but everything else great.

Renovated rooms are very good. Great resort for families. Choose wisely and food and drink prices are reasonable. Staff are excellent, wish they could be paid what their surly counterparts in Australia earn for half the service.

We stayed for seven nights at the Raddison Blu in February. Our party consisted of myself and my partner and three kids aged 11,13 and 15.
Our holiday was booked through MyFiji and as there were five of us, two garden rooms were booked.

Upon checking in, this caused a bit of confusion as the booking had used my 15 year olds name for one of the room bookings, so there was a slight delay with checking in.
Staff gave us free drink vouchers while we waited and then advised we would get an upgrade to a two bedroom apartment. This is what I actually wanted originally.
Apartment was great except there was a drainage smell present in one of the bathrooms that was a bit off-putting. I figured this was most likely due to all the wet weather we were experiencing. There was also lots of renovation taking place around us. Not overly disruptive, but did cause a bit more rubbish to be generated around.

The resort generally looks nice enough on the surface, but upon closer inspection, a few flaws appear. The first being the amount of small pieces of garbage in the gardens surrounding the rooms. It’s like the rooms get swept/mopped into the garden with bits of beads, plastic, packaging, easter egg wrappers, resort communication papers littering the area. Maybe they blow out of the bins as housekeeping are emptying them? There were a few more unpleasant items in the gardens that I won’t go into here, but it is a problem at the resort I feel could easily be remedied.

Another flaw was the cleanliness at the dining area where we had our buffet breakfast. While the breakfast is lovely with a great variety of choices, the experience is let down by the tired and unhygienic tables. Some are wooden picnic style tables with slats, these have had people scratch their name in and also bits of food accumulated in the slat cross beams. The cutlery is in a rusty metal container that marks the table.
In addition, the floors where rain has blown in were not mopped adequately before service and created a slip hazard. I saw many near misses while trying to enjoy breakfast.
Watch the birds that fly in the room as they will peck at your food if you are not watching and also poo on the tables.

I felt communication with daily activities was a bit of a let down. The ‘daily’ communication was placed on room door handles and mostly were found blown into the garden. A decorative cylinder installed next to the room door to deposit the communication would solve this problem.
Many activities didn’t seem to come to fruition. This was probably due to wet weather, but I couldn’t see any wet weather alternatives offered. Perhaps I just missed these.

Good features are the pool which is a grand feature and maintained well.
The gym was good and functional.
All restaurant food was lovely and room service was quick.

Overall, a nice family resort and fairly cost effective, but just the lack of attention to detail separates this resort from some of the other more well kept resorts.
However, I believe with the above issues addressed, this resort would stand strong with the other high end resorts in Port Denarau.
