We stayed here for 1 night while travelling around Sri Lanka.

Ella town is not a big place, it only takes 10-15 mins max to walk to this accommodation from the train station so a tuk tuk isn't necessary. The guesthouse is located opposite a nice Italian restaurant called AK Ristoro (although we heard no noise from the restaurant during our stay).

The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was warm enough, which are the main things that I look for in accommodation.

It is probably worth staying here just for the breakfast. The egg hoppers with sambol and dhal were fantastic. We were asked if we wanted more hoppers but by that time I think we had already gone through 3 each! A real treat.

The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. At our request, he organised a driver to take us from Ella to Udawalawe National Park and then on to Unawatuna. We also enjoyed our stay, and Ella in general, so much that we asked if we could stay another night. Unfortunately, he was fully booked but he went out of his way to find out if his brother's guesthouse had a spare room, took us to see the room to ensure it was satisfactory and organised a tuk tuk to transport our luggage there.

All in all our stay here was great and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Ella. Thanks!

Three of us did a 17:30 cooking class with Iran at Grand 39. (Our kids were happily watched by Grandad next door at AK Ristoro having sushi!). We paid 2500 LKR each, and its held upstairs in a very nice space.

Over the 2 hour class you prepare 6 dishes and then wrap in banana leaves, before eating the meal. The food is wonderful.

We have had wonderful Sri Lankan food at many home stays, it is great to learn how easy it is to make.

Grandad joined us for the meal - along with a bottle of wine from next door!

My friend and I stayed at Grand 39 for one night at the recommendation of Rizwan @Tourlk. The room was clean, cozy and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and provided a well rested night. We were served good breakfast of toast, eggs of our choice, coconut pancake with fresh bananas, tomatoes and freshly plucked mint leaves from the porch! The place radiates with warm services from the host, Iran K. and his family members!

We stayed here for one night during our visit to Ella. We wished we had booked for longer. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the Sri Lankan style breakfast.
