The village itself is circular, trees surround a grassed area and at the edge is the auberge. It is very well frequented so booking is a good idea. The staff work very hard and the menu is regional and a basic three course menu is €24.

We came to have a wander around the village of Fources and decided to try this restaurant. Two of the group had the set daily menu of plate of meats, Guinea fowl and then lemon sponge and strawberry ice cream. Everything was fine with the meal and it was good value for money it was just that the courses didn't seem to go together and compliment each other. Also there was no choice for vegetarians on this menu so I had to order off the a la carte menu. Nice service and a lovely setting.

Ok, it was 13.50 euros. There are many places around this area that offer good value lunches for around 13-14 euros. I know, I've tried lots of them and enjoyed most. The value for money is always excellent - four courses for that money? Happy days.
Yesterday's lunch at the Auberge at Fources was the best I've had. Good simple soup, a lovely little basques omelette thing, and then veal steak with morel sauce and pasta. That really meant, a great mushroom pasta with a tender steak. Excellent

We dined here on a Sunday afternoon and it was a relief to get a table without a booking as usually this is not possible in France. The service was polite and prompt. We both ordered the fish with a lemon sauce and it was delicious. The restaurant was busy and is obviously popular with the locals too. I hope to return for another meal sometime.

Just walking into the city centre is almost jaw-dropping... it radiates history and is very nicely preserved! On Sundays, you can also find brocante marches under the arcade.

The auberge, does justice to the historical appearance of the village. Although it has a clean and modernised interior, you can still see eye-catching fixtures of bygone times.

The service was friendly, polite, and on point. The orders placed promptly and came in a timely fashion.

The food was very good, tasty and fresh! The portions satisfying! The choices on the menu are adequate and one can find a choice according to their preference as they have sufficient possibilities for meats, fish, and vegetarian.

The croustade with prune-armagnac icecream and the canelles are lovely finishes to a wonderful evening!

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back a second time! Definitely recommend it!
