The hotel is modern and was recently refurbished. We had a family room on the first floor with a balcony and beautiful lake view (due to the fog in the morning, we actually had a clearer view upon arrival around 6 pm. We could see the castle on the opposite side of the lake illuminated and the outline of the mountains). The bed and linen were great, we had a good night’s sleep. The room was spacious, we didn’t feel cramped. The bathroom was also spacious, which made us think there’s an opportunity for further renovations: redesign it to make a bigger shower given they’ve got the space. We booked our room at the last minute on Hotels.com. The restaurant was sadly closed as it was a Monday in January (not peak season); and due to their shorter office hours, our reservation wasn’t acknowledged immediately so we had to wait a bit to check in but once that was sorted, it was a very nice stay. We drove down to Arona town center for dinner at Pura Vida. Breakfast was tasty and a good mix of sweet and savoury. The hotel has done an excellent job catering for COVID-19 protection. The breakfast was served to us to avoid people touching the same serving utensils. The tables were spaced apart. Hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the hotel. Masks worn correctly.
