The bucolic setting, the spacious accommodation, the surrounding environs, and the delicious breakfast was a highlight of our six weeks traveling through France and Italy. A short walk to a charming village made our visit complete.

Drive down the via Foresto di Pagnano from the centre of town and look for a yellow wall on the left side with big gates. Most satnavs don't have number 3 listed, it's a long thin house looking from the road about 100M down from some parking places (which you won't need). Just honk your car horn twice at the gate :-)

Whenever I am in Asolo I stay here. The parking is secure behind electronically controlled gates to the property. The location is slightly down the hill from Asolo but all the better for it location wise. The view across the valley to the hills of Padova on one side and Mount Grappa and the Valdobbiadene (where all the prosecco comes from) is breathtaking. Rooms are very clean with high quality linen that is freshly aired and lovely after a day's driving. Breakfast is simply fantastic, cake, bread, anything really and the family are superbly friendly and highly cultured (Giancarlo is a writer of poetry and novels and Vanny cooks, reads and smiles a lot).

We used Villa Vega as our base during a family holiday in the Veneto region. Located within walking distance to the historic hill town of Asolo, Villa Vega provided a delightful homely feel with the numerous paintings, antique furniture and family memorabilia in each room and spacious lounge. The breakfast provided by the friendly host/owners Vanni and Carlo was excellent (especially the freshly baked cakes) and their local knowledge re restaurants and other tourist information was very useful. Although our visit was during winter, the rooms were always warm and the views from the rooms over the plains was memorable. If you are looking for accommodation near Asolo look no further than Villa Vega. If travelling with small children the distance to Asolo could be a problem if you do not have access to a car.

Lovely 18th century house with gorgeous views and garden. The host Vani is incredibly helpful and responds to any requests in a positive way. Breakfasts excellent too. Very good value in an overpriced but beautiful hill town. Vani suggested two good restaurants too that we're delicious but not expensive. Great place to stay.

(No fitness centre. I don't know how to unpick that rating )

Room Tip: Ask for view over the garden

Villa Vega is an excellent choice on the edge of delightful Asolo. The location is really beautiful with splendid views towards the Berici hills south of Vicenza and towards the mountains to the north. Breakfast in the garden is a great way to start the day; each morning there was something different on offer. Our room had great charm and was pleasantly furnished in traditional style. There is occasional traffic noise but this did not trouble us. The bathroom was not the most modern but perfectly acceptable. The owners are extremely charming and recommended several good places to eat in the town. I would be happy to stay at Villa Vega again.
