This restaurant changed hands some months ago and we were lucky enough to dine there on April 25, Portugal's "anniversary" of the end of non-representative government. They roasted a pig on a spit and offered local food at moderate prices. Four weeks later We were in town again and ate there a second time. The menu offered standard area dishes, well-prepared and nicely served. Prices, once again, were moderate and every aspect of the service was excellent. The fancy meals? Try the Pousada. But if you like a view of the river, local people having a night out and well-prepared food at moderate prices, try Descoberta.
