Izamal is a gem in the rough. We arrived here from Campeche and checked in for one night. The room was very inviting and cozy. Clean with a nice patio overlooking the pool. The only problem was that there was a common patio above ours and therefore it was not private. The staff was very courteous and the grounds well kept.
Izamal itself is pretty in a Spanish colonial kind of way, with cobblestone streets and arched promenades, but be advised, there is not much to do and the dining is limited to just a few nicer restaurants. Everything pretty much shuts down around 8:00 PM! If it's a laid back visit you want, then this is the place for you.

Had a wonderful one night stay while touring around the Yucatan.
Room was on the second floor which offered some nice breezes.
Lots of out door area's, patio's to sit and relax. Pool and deck area are very nice.
Super view of the convent across the street, fun sitting on the patio watching a Jr. soccer team practice on the convent grounds. Did not try the breakfast. Highly recommend for the price.

This small hotel is across the street from the cathedral, and with-in easy walking distance from the town square and the Mayan Structure. Built into the side of a hill, the views from the roof top patio & restaurant are very nice.
The breakfast was quite good, and I recommend it.

This is a charming, well run hotel in a beautiful town. I was very impressed with the staff, the room, the breakfast and local. And the price was a real bargain. I would highly recommend it for anyone staying in the area.

We found this hostel by luck and were really happy with everything. The prices are really low for what you get: big rooms and beds, a great view over the Izamal church, a pool in the back and tasty breakfast. absolutely no complains, super nice service also.
