We just happened on this place by chance and popped in for a late lunch, and we were very glad we did. We had a lovely time, sitting on the deck and enjoying the peace and quiet. We were not very hungry so we ordered fish cakes and a ploughman's platter... well there was a lot more food than we expected and everything was delicious and quality. The ploughman's platter was incredible, full of lovely cheeses and cold meats, home made chutneys, you name it. We polished everything off because it was so good! The waitress was lovely too. Will definitely go back there.

Loved Die Stal. We were a largish group and they stayed open specially for us. The food was exceptional. A culinary delight! The setting is just perfect, with the horses in the paddock and the tortoise busy near by. You have to buy some of the delectable offerings in the shop: fig jam is the best, chocolate sauce has to be tasted to be believed and the balsamic reductions make a salad perfect! These people have just got it right. Definitely worth making a trip out to experience this fantastic food in an idealic location.

On the morning of the 16th February 2017 I phoned and made a booking for 16 people. We were a group of motorcyclists on a trip.
The owner does not normally do bookings but she kindly agreed to.
At 11H30am I called again and changed the booking to 32 people and suggested that she just make different platters for us.
By 12H30pm we arrived and they already had some starters ready for us and the rest of the dishes was ready within half an hour. Everything was freshly made including the bread. The salads were fresh and crisp. The ribs were tender and melt in your mouth. The Biltong Bread sticks were devine. The drinks were ice cold and refreshing.
The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and nothing was too much for her and her only assistant that she had for the day. Everything was impeccable.
I cannot emphasize enough on the setting, the quality of the food, the friendly atmosphere and how welcome we were all made to feel.
Bravo!!!!!

We had lunch and maybe it was because of the hot day (41 degrees C) but we were not impressed by the service and food. at all. The lady who helped us was not welcoming us in a friendly way, eventhough we made a reservation beforhand. When the lunch arrived she said "here you are" iso "enjoy your meal" and walked away and when she collected the plates, she said "finished"?
The shrimp tempura.... tasteless, no herbs added to the tempura. Everything covered with french fries, I could hardly see the shrimps.
We left after paying, they didn't even see us walking away.
Looking at the other reviews, I think it was just not our day (and that of the waitress).

We went for lunch to this small charming restaurant on the farm. Good choices on the menu prepared in no time. Our dishes were very well presented and good size. Friendly staff and quick service. Nice shop with local produce, very reasonable. Highly recommend for relaxing lunch on the farm with the view of the valley.
