Getting there is not fun. We flew into Tambor and rented at car. The roads are the worst roads on the planet Earth. I thought that there was no way that this could be for real. Potholes from hell in the middle of a rainstorm.

We arrived at Villas Hermosas after dark in the rain and mud. Could this really be the Villas Hermosas that I had read about for 6 months? We drove back into Santa Teresa to find a restaurant to eat dinner. Dogs outnumber people in Costa Rica. This was beginning to be a hard sell to Darla.

And then. . . . . . the sun came up. You soon realized that you were at one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches on the planet. The villas were wonderful and somehow all this seemed worthwhile.

Brad and Tara have made this their life passion. The love and energy that they have placed into this venture make it all so special. Villas Hermosas has earned the lofty position as the number one vacation destination in this area.

It is all about the beach. Although you will see a number of people on the weekend, when Monday rolls around it is like its a private beach. You can walk for a mile in either direction and the beach is all yours. At low tide you can walk two blocks out into the ocean and still be waist deep in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. No rocks, just soft sand.

It is all about the people. You will meet new "friends" at breakfast. Friends to walk the beach with. Friends to go to dinner with. Friends to share lives with.

A highlight is Brad's ATV Tour. I guarantee that you will enjoy this and bring home the memories.

Villas Hermosas will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Brad and Tara's labor of love make it all worth while. We sure hope to be lucky enough to be able to return.

We had a great stay at Villas Hermosas in August 2010. The owners, Brad and Tara, made our stay so fun and comfortable. We loved being right on the beach and Brad and Tara organizing our activities for us (surf lessons, ATV tour by Brad, Ziplining). Our wedding was amazing, right in front of the beach at sunset. The staff was so helpful to make sure we had a lovely wedding. The honeymoon suite was so comfortable and luxurious!

We had an amazing time and cannot wait to return! We loved every moment of being there!

I don't want Brad and Tara to get inflated ego (their modesty is the key to their success), but the fact is that they run one of the most wonderful hotels I've ever been to. Our family has been to VH six times and counting. Things just get better and better, even if this July was wetter and wetter! To be delighted to stay somewhere even when the weather takes a turn for the worse, and enjoy oneself just as much as if it were sunny and 85 degrees--that is the measure of a great establishment. If you are looking for an unusual but utterly fulfilling vacation, do not hesitate to head to Villas Hermosas (if you can get a reservation!!)

Villas hermosas was well named. These villas are absolutely beautiful. They are run by Brad and Tara, who are the best hosts and owners of this property. They treat their guests as family. The beach, the pool, the howler monkeys waking us up every morning, the frogs and the gorgeous villa was our home for a week and we had a hard time leaving it. Our boys learned to surf, we had great meals brought in by Will, who was the best delivery guy. He delivered our meals under any conditions, including rain storms. Muchas Gracias Will. I had great yoga classes just steps away from the property. This spot has something special for everyone.

When we arrived at Villas Hermosas Tara greeted us and showed us to our Villa, which was absolutely gorgeous! I had the most wonderful week of my life. Brad and Tara were amazing in everything they did for us. Very hospitable and friendly, fun to hang out with too!! I highly recommend the quad tour with Brad! Costa Rica was gorgeous, warm, and relaxing. We had a message on the beach which was awesome! I will, with out a doubt, be back to Costa Rica and Villas Hermosas! This experience changed me and I am so thankful that my husband and I and our friends were able to experience this together.
